This paper presents 21st Century Skills that are ideal for Vocational High Schools (SMK) in Indonesia using library research methods or approaches. Data collection is carried out by studying, exploring a number of books, documents and journals (both in printed and electronic form) as well as other sources of data and / or other information that relevant to research or studies. The aim is to define 21st Century Skills that are ideal for Vocational High Schools (SMK) in Indonesia. Seeing the various urgencies of SMKs in facing the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 which is developing at this time, it is very necessary to support the development of soft skills that need to be provided for vocational students. Hence, ideal soft skills are needed to help the development of SMK in the future. The result in general soft skills that are predicted to be able to answer the guidance of modernization are 21st Century skills, specifically the 21st Century skills that are closest to the aim of Vocational High Schools and Vocational Education in Indonesia are Life Career Skills. The development of hard skills can be known through the results and real processes of working to train students' tactical and technical abilities, while the development of soft skills is needed in order to make children be able to be professional and develop to complete all the work they do.
This research aims to know the understanding of the educational community, especially at the vocational level of the practice of Pancasila in the field of education and formulate aspects in the Pancasila ethical and ethical education model. The type of research used is R&D research. The subjects in this study were teachers, students, and Principals of Vocational Schools in the City of Yogyakarta, in the field of Technology and Engineering expertise. While the objects in this study are Pancasila’s values, the behaviours of teachers and students, and the ethics and culture-based education model of Pancasila. Data collection techniques were questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation (triangulation). Data analysis used quantitative descriptive techniques. The results of this study are: (1) respondents believe there has been a disorientation in applying the values of Pancasila as the basis of the Republic of Indonesia as much as 80%; (2) systemic ethics and culture based education model of Pancasila which is developed from interrelated and facilitated inputs, processes, outputs and feedback.
This study aims to determine the process of developing Edmodo-assisted teaching materials and determine the level of eligibility in learning Manufacturing Engineering Drawings subject. The research type is Research and Development methods (R&D), using the 4D model, which consists of four steps, namely defining, design, development, and disseminating. The subjects of this study were 30 students of SMK N 2 Yogyakarta majoring in Machining. Data collection techniques are done by observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The initial analysis was done descriptively, while the feasibility data analysis was carried out quantitatively. The quantitative data were subsequently converted into qualitative data. These development results are (1) Edmondo-assisted teaching material products in Manufacturing Engineering Drawing (GTM) subjects with the flip builder application's help. The learning material is divided into five learning activities: drawing 2D sketches, making 3D drawings, editing 3D models, assembling 3D models (assembly), and making working drawings. (2) The feasibility of teaching materials and the media used is determined from the experts' validation results, with the results of the validation of the material experts 82% and 83.65% media experts, which are in the very feasible criteria. The revised product is then tested on students through online trials, with 83.105% results are in the very feasible category. In conclusion, the Edmodo-assisted teaching materials on Manufacturing Engineering Drawing subjects for Vocational Schools are very suitable for use in learning.
The 3rd ICoVEMAT-2020 was organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering Education and the Department of Automotive Engineering Education, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. It was successfully held on October 5th, 2020 using an online platform (zoom) due to the serious pandemic Covid 19 which is endangering people, leaving them no choice but to avoid gathering people at the same place. The Third International Conference on Vocational Education of Mechanical and Automotive Technology (ICoVEMAT) 2020 aims to provide a platform for educators, academicians, researchers, and industry professionals from all over the world to share their ideas, research results, and to discuss the development and innovation in mechanical and automotive technology. It also provides an opportunity for the participants to find global partners for future collaboration. Industrial revolution 4.0, the internet of things, environmental sustainability, and concern for the disabled person have an impact on every aspect of human civilization including in the field of mechanical and automotive engineering. The need for human resources who are capable of adapting and innovating with various technological advancements to contribute to improving the quality of the environment and people’s lives is increasing. Therefore, the theme of 3rd ICoVEMAT 2020 is “Technology Innovation-Based Mechanical and Automotive Engineering Education for Promoting Sustainable Freedom of Learning” List of Steering Committee, Scientific Committee, Proceedings Chairs, Organizing Committee, Invited Speakers are available in this pdf.
