This research aimed to know the effectiveness of storytelling strategy to improve the students’ reading comprehension at second grades of MTs Al-Marif 1 KabupatenSorong. Storytelling was one of the good strategy in teaching learning process especially in teaching reading, because it can make the student was easier to understand about the text/story. In this research, the researcher used Quasi-experimental design. The subject of this research was VIIIC as experiment class that consist of 30 students: 16 males and 14 females, and VIIIB as control class that also consist of 30 students: 15 males and 15 females. The instruments were collected by using test (pre-test and post-test). The form of the test was essay and true false question. After giving the pre-test to students, the researcher gave the treatment and the steps in teaching learning process were: (1) the teacher divides the student into four groups, one group consist of 7-8 students; (2) the teacher divides the story of narrative text in each group; (3) teacher tell the story by using gesture, tone of voice and movement in the text/story; (4) after tell the story, teacher writes the questions the whiteboard; (5) teacher gave 15-20 minutes in every group to discuss the answer of the questions, then teacher ask one of students in each groups to read their answers. After giving the treatment, the researcher gave the post-test. The researcher used to analyze the result that the students got. Based on the finding in this research, the researcher can conclude that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected or it can be said that Storytelling Strategy was effective to improve the student’s reading comprehension at the second grade of MTS Al-Ma’arif 1 KabupatenSorong. It was supported by the result which show that the value of was 2,356 and the value of from the df (58) on degree of significance of 5% was 2.00. Tujuan dari penelitian untuk mengetahui: 1) Tingkat kecerdasan intrapersonal siswa kelas V; 2) Minat belajar matematika siswa kelas V; 3) Hubungan antara kecerdasan intrapersonal dengan minat belajar matematika siswa kelas V dan mengetahui model regresi linier sederhana antara kedua variabel. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif korelasional. Populasi siswa kelas V MI se-Kabupaten Karanganyar berjumlah 290 siswa dengan jumlah sampel 148 siswa yang diambil menggunakan teknik sampling area, namun hanya 148 data yang dianalisis. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Kecerdasan intrapersonal siswa kelas V berada pada kategori sedang sebesar 54,70%; (2) Minat belajar matematika siswa kelas V berada dalam kategori sedang sebesar 51,40%; (3) Terdapat hubungan yang positif antara kecerdasan intrapersonal dengan minat belajar siswa kelas V dengan nilai 0,870 0,159, Model regresi linier sederhananya adalah = 22,978 + 0,851X. Model tersebut mengandung makna bahwa disetiap penambahan 1 satuan kecerdasan intrapersonal akan mampu meningkatkan minat belajar matematika siswa sebesar 0,851 satuan, sehingga dapat disimpulkan, semakin tinggi kecerdasan intrapersonal pesert didik, maka semakin meningkat pula minat belajarnya.
This study aims to determine (1) The relationship adversity quotient with work readiness, (2) The relationship of self-efficacy with work readiness, (3) The relationship adversity quotient and self efficacy with work readiness student class XII Multimedia Skills Program of SMK 1 Jombang. The population of this study is all students of class XII Multimedia skills program of SMK Negeri 1 Jombang as many as 316 students. Data collection using a scale. The trials of research instruments conducted to the students of SMKN 2 Jombang as many as 80 students of class XII Multimedia Skills Program. Testing of prerequisite analysis includes normality test and linearity test. The data analysis technique used is the technique of multiple regression analysis. The results of this study are (1) Adversity Quetientand Self effiacy havepositive and significant impact to the Work Readiness of students class XII Multimedia Skills Program SMKN 1 Jombang. indicated by the test results of the regression analysis to get the value of the regression F = 13.049, p = 0.000 (p <0.01), (2) Adversity Quetient have positive and significant impact to the work readiness of students class XII of SMKN 1 Jombang.based on the results of the regression partial analysis found Regression t values between variables adversity quetient with work readiness = 4.266 and r partial = 0.437 and p = 0, 000 (p <0.01), (3) Self Efficacy has not positive and significant impact to the work readiness of students class XII of SMKN 1 Jombang indicated by the value of r partial correlation between self-efficacy with work readiness = 0.010, and the value of t regression = 089 and, with p = 0, 930 (p> 0.01).Keywords : Adversity Quotient, Self Efficacy, Job Readiness
Role play is a tool of dramatic explorations, which engages participants within an aesthetic, there-dimensional problem-solving process to examine, explore, and reflect upon issue of personal and collective importance. The aim of study was to find out whether or not the use of role play of daily conversation in teaching speaking is able to improve the students’ speaking ability or not. This research used quasi-experimental method. The sample of the research is 30 students of first grade of SMA Muhammadiyah Aimas which was divided into two classes. The data has collected through interview on pre-test and role play show on post-test. The data analysis showed the improvements of the students’ speaking ability who are studied through role play. It was proven by the mean score of experimental class was 72.3 with SD 3,527 higher than control class was 65,7 with SD 4,154. In other words, Role Play techniques can improve the speaking ability of the students.
The students at Senior High School are teenagers. They were easy to feel bored if teacher taught them by a conventional method. They love to learn everything by a fun way. In this case, the writer tries to improve their ability in mastery English vocabulary, which vocabulary is something important to be learnt. It is one element to sharp the four skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing all together. The writer takes a research about this case. This study is mainly aimed to identify the improvement of student's vocabulary mastery through Talking Stick for the tenth grade students of SMA NEGERI 2 KABUPATEN SORONG in the academic year of 2016/2017. This research is a classroom action research. The methods of collecting data are observation, interview, test instrument and field notes. Then, the writer analyzes them in descriptive and statistical technique. This study takes two cycles. After did two cycles, the writer get a result. Both in the cycle I and cycle II, score of post-test are higher than pre-test. Then, the percentage of students’ mastery also improve, while in the first cycle there were only 41% students who could pass the target score of the Minimal Mastery Level Criterion (KKM). In the second cycle, there were 72% students who could pass the target score. Then from the questioner respond, it seems that students interested in learning vocabulary through Talking Stick. These all results indicate that there was significant improvement of students’ vocabulary mastery through Talking Stick for the tenth grade students of SMA NEGERI 2 Kabupaten Sorong in the academic year of 2016 /2017.
