This study aimed to analyze the effect of control, origin & ownership, reach, and endurance on the entrepreneurial intention. The population and sample in this study were students in The Faculty of Economics and Business University of North Sumatera batch 2013 and 2014 majoring in entrepreneurship up to 90 respondents. Data is analyzed by multiple linear regression analysis. Results showed that partially control and endurance have significant influence on entrepreneurial intention. Meanwhile, origin & ownership as well as reach variable have insignificant effect on entrepreneurial intention. However control, origin & ownership, reach, and endurance simultaneously have significant effect on entrepreneurial intention. The coefficient of determination is 0.304. It means that adversity quotient contributed 30.4% in explaining the entrepreneurial intention on students in The Faculty of Economics and Business University of North Sumatera, while the rest 69.6% is explained by others.
The existence of the Covid-19 pandemic that attacks all parts of the world causes various problems ranging from physical, psychological, spiritual and economic health. Government of Indonesia in order to reduce the number of growth positive Covid-19 then make various kinds of policies. Meanwhile, women due to the Covid-19 pandemic bear a double burden, because of the work from home and school from home policies. Thus, women must be able to allocate their time to take care of the household, accompany their children to study, as well as work. The purpose of women entering the business world is not only about financial problems, but also to follow the intrinsic needs and a sense of satisfaction with the achievements that have been made, especially mompreneurs in Indonesia can be a driving force in the process of empowering women which has a positive impact on the country's economy, especially in helping the family economy. Mompreneur generally start business from small to capitalize skills and capital are limited. Mompreneur is believed to continue to grow from the small business level to become a large business and even be able to compete at the international level. The purpose of the study is to analyze the influence of self-efficacy, self-esteem, the orientation of the market and the orientation of the innovation to the performance of mompreneur through a commitment to entrepreneurship. This research was conducted in the city of Medan on mompreneur with a sample of 255 respondents. Results of the study showed that self-efficacy, self-esteem, the orientation of the market and the orientation of the innovation impact significantly on the performance of mompreneur through a commitment to entrepreneurship. This research was aimed to analyze the effect of control, ownership, reach, and endurance as a variable dimension of adversity quotient to the business success in Medan Denai. This type of research explanatory associative research. Based on the results of data processing with multiple linear regression analysis methods, the results of this study indicate that the influence of adversity quotient variables consisting of dimension control, ownership, reach, & endurance simultaneously positive and significant effect on the business success. Partially dimensional control and endurance positive and significant effect to the business success, meanwhile the ownership dimension and reach partially positive but not significant effect to the business success.
In Community Service activities, partners are Bika Bakar business actors in Medan City. The business partner has been engaged in the culinary sector, especially traditional cake type foods since 1990. The type of cake food produced by this business partner is baked bika cake. The production process is carried out at home with the help of several employees and equipment that is still simple, does not have accountancy , packaging that still uses plastic bags and limited access to marketing. Promotions that are lacking make partner products unable to compete with cake products produced by large businesses. Partners still use simple tools so that the production of bika bakar is not optimal in quantity and quality of production, so that Ms. Nurmalis' roasted bika is still less popular than cakes with well-known brands. Improvement in designing good simple bookkeeping in financial management. Increasing the quality and quantity of Bika Bakar production after the addition of a furnace and an increasing number of bika cake molds and using good paper bags, as well as product development through making brands in Bika Bakar Mitra products and online marketing.
Life insurance ownership has been known as one of alternatives to mitigate the financial risk of a household. Several ethnicities in Indonesia are exposed to financial risk in terms of premature death of family members because there exists cultural traits expenditures. This paper examines the decision to own life insurance among Bataknese in Medan. The determinants of life insurance ownership observed in this study include socioeconomic and demographic factors. Data was analysed using Logit regression of 185 questionnaires after adjustments from 200 responses. The results show that the Batak ethnic in Medan owned personal life insurance because it was driven by the number of credit card limits, age, number of social gathering clan, education, residence ownership status, and bequest motives. Meanwhile, Saur matua life insurance (cultural traits) ownership is driven by factors in the order of the first child in the family, the number of brothers, life expectancy, and the condition of receiving inheritance from parents. Bataknese own life insurance affected by socioeconomic and demographic factors. This research can provide opportunities for the life insurance industry if it wants to add new features of life insurance products that are specific to ethnic groups with similar cultural heritage patterns.
