The present study aimed at associating geoprocessing procedures for analysis of land use and native vegetation for municipal management, using an easy access and low cost methodology to the public administration of the municipality of Vitória Brazil/SP. Initially, the land use and the land occupation were evaluated, being delimited the municipal hydrographical micro basin and the permanent preservation areas (PPAs). For this purpose, multispectral images of high spatial resolution were used, available by the government partnerships between the City Hall, the state and federal authorities. From the obtained results it was possible to efficiently determine that only 3% of the original vegetation is preserved; the livestock is the main municipal occupation, covering more than 41% of the area; citrus and sugar-cane are also very expressive, occupying, respectively 13% and 7% of the area of the municipality of Vitoria; and around 70% of the municipal PPAs need hydrophilic species for its recovering. These indicators configure a data bank for consulting and supporting the public admiration, as well as a source for the administrative decision making, aiming at guiding the resources for the development of the municipal rural sector, in a more dynamic, efficient and economically viable way.KEY WORDS: land occupation, remote sensing, hydrographical micro basin.

RESUMOAs perdas de solo e a deposição de sedimentos têm sido a principal causa da degradação ambiental em bacias hidrográficas.Este trabalho teve por objetivo estimar as perdas de solo e a deposição de sedimentos na sub-bacia Jardim Novo Horizonte em diferentes eventos de precipitação, com o intuito de identificar as áreas com maior suscetibilidade à erosão, utilizando como ferramenta o modelo LISEM.Os solos da sub-bacia são o Latossolo Vermelho e o Argissolo Vermelho-Amarelo, ambos de textura média. Para as simulações, foi utilizado o modelo LISEM, sendo coletados dados de intensidade de precipitação dos anos de 2009a 2012, o qual foram selecionados 10 eventos com maiores intensidades de precipitação para o período avaliado. Para obtenção dos parâmetros de entrada necessários, foramcoletadas amostras de solos. Estas coletas foram realizadas em dez locais ao longo da sub-bacia, sob as diferentes formas de uso e ocupação do solo, sendo seis localizados no Latossolo e quatro no Argissolo.A sub-bacia Jardim Novo Horizonte apresenta uma alta suscetibilidade a processos erosivos. Háuma relação entre as perdas de solo e deposição de sedimentos com o escoamento superficial e a precipitação total. Os locais mais suscetíveis a processos erosivos correspondem às áreas cultivadas com pastagens, e isso ocorre devido à degradação do solo e manejo inadequado destas áreas.
