Program IbM ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara bahasa Inggris tingkat dasar bagi guru dan karyawan SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Purwokerto. Berdasarkan hasil observasi, kemampuan bahasa Inggris peserta tidak terlalu beragam, yaitu berada pada tingkat pra-pemula (sebelum tingkat dasar). Pelatihan ini dilaksanakan secara terstruktur dalam jangka waktu 4 bulan. Berdasarkan pelaksanaan pelatihan dan evaluasi hasil, penulis menyimpulkan sebagai berikut: (1) pemahaman tata bahasa guru dan karyawan SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Purwokerto meningkat secara cukup signifkan. Salah satu fokus materi dalam pelatihan ini adalah pembelajaran tata bahasa secara terintegrasi ke dalam kegiatan berbicara. Peserta pelatihan dapat memahami tata bahasa dengan lebih mudah dan aplikatif; dan (2) kemampuan berbicara bahasa Inggris guru dan karyawan SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Purwokerto meningkat secara cukup signifikan. Peserta lebih termotivasi untuk secara aktif dalam menggunakan ekspresi dalam bahasa Inggris di lingkungan kerjanya. Selain itu, kepercayaan diri dan akurasi pengucapan kosa kata bahasa Inggris peserta juga meningkat secara cukup signifikan. Pengabdian ini dilakukan pada konteks guru dan karyawan di sebuah sekolah yang memiliki sister school di luar negeri, sehingga kebermanfaatannya lebih signifikan untuk sekolah terkait. Di masa yang akan datang, pengabdian semacam ini dapat diperluas konteksnya untuk mendapatkan luaran yang lebih komprehensif.
The use of X-rays cannot be separated from the radiation given to the patient's body, therefore the radiation exposure received by patients should be very low according to the ALARA principle (As Low As Reasonably Achieveable). The research method is a quantitative description by using themeasurement method radiation output as a reference for the estimated radiation dose received by the patient, then the analysis of the success of socialization to radiographers about DRL as an optimization effort in radiographic examination. The results of the radiation dose estimation using themethod radiation output by determining theequation power function of themeasurement radiation output where the value of the radiation dose rate increases as the kVp value increases with y= 0.0005x2.9242. From theresults, it was pre-test found that the number of correct answers was 120 and 84 wrong, with a percentage of 59% and the number of respondents 10.03 people. Meanwhile, for theresults, the post-test number of correct answers was 194 and 12 wrong, with a percentage of 94% and the number of respondents being 15.98 people. It is hoped that radiographers can apply the principle of optimization in carrying out all radiographic examinations.
This community service activity aims to introduce and practice teaching recon paragraphs through the mnemonic device 'FRIED' to English teachers at SMP/MTs in Banyumas Regency. The training was divided into three sessions: a review of recon paragraphs, an explanation of the 'FRIED' mnemonic device to teach writing recon paragraphs, and practice teaching writing using this device. The participants considered that this device was easy to practice and could help them teach and guide their students to write cohesive and coherent recon paragraphs. Some participants thought that this device could be used to develop teaching and help students improve speaking competence. They stated that the mnemonic device 'FRIED' offers a systematic way to structure and organize content appropriately and in accordance with the organizational structure of recon paragraphs.
Translating is an undertaking to replace a piece of a written work in one language, called the source language, into that of another language, the target language. Although a translator has absolutely total freedom in replacing the language making different translators render a sentence or series of sentences into various form and style of sentences, there are at least two fundamental aspects which bind a translator in their jobs. First is the aspect of accuracy which means that translation should have the same message as that of the original or source text. The second is the naturalness which means that translation should read as if it were written in the target language which in turn influence the communicativeness of the translation, the more natural the translation the communicative. Prepositional relative clause is an adjective clause whose relative pronoun, commonly whom or which, is preceded by a preposition, for example the tools with which the carpenter make the furniture. This clause has the function of modifying a noun. This construction causes inconsistency in translation. In adjective clause with which without preposition, the which is commonly translated into yang, which is correct because yang is the conjunction which is used to introduce a modifier. However when the which is preceded by a preposition, it is often translated into mana and the preposition is translated using word-for-word approach, resulting in Alat dengan mana tukang kayu itu membuat kursi, which is neither accurate nor communicative. This paper tries to propose how such construction should be translated into bahasa Indonesia accurately and communicatively.
