Objective: Anticonvulsant is one class of drugs often used off-label. This study was conducted to investigate the prevalence and the indication of the off-label use of anticonvulsants in a private hospital in Java, Indonesia. Methods:This was an observational study with a retrospective data collection in a private hospital in Java. Data were obtained on the prescription of anticonvulsants. Indications of the use of anticonvulsants were obtained from the medical records of patients who were prescribed anticonvulsants. The off-label use of anticonvulsants was defined a prescribing of medication outside the indication approved by The National Agency of Drug and Food Control Indonesia (NA-DFC). The use off-label of anticonvulsants was calculated by descriptive analysis and presented as a percentage.Results: It showed that in one year there were 5,310 for 1,316 patients: of this 462 patients (35.11%) were for an off-label use. The anticonvulsants used off-label were oxcarbazepine 67.27% (37/55), carbamazepine 46.15% (54/117), pregabalin45.45% (60/132), phenytoin37.62% (225/598), valproate 25.34% (37/109), and gabapentin 18.28% (49/219). The highest off-label use of anticonvulsants was found in neurological and psychiatric disorders 67.32% (n=311), and on 97.19% of them were not supported by strong clinical evidence. Conclusion:The off-label use of anticonvulsants occurred in one-third of patients receiving prescriptions of anticonvulsants, even though for most of them there was a lack of evidence. More attention must be paid to the efficacy and risk of side effects of the drug used.
Pelaksanaan pembelajaran pada masa pandemi COVID-19 saat ini diarahkan kepada pembelajaran jarak jauh guna mendukung upaya memutus rantai penularan virus COVID-19. TK ABA Ponggalan, Giwangan, Yogyakarta sebagai salah satu tempat pendidikan taman kanak-kanak juga melakukan modifikasi dalam sistem pembelajaran yang diterapkan. Keterbatasan dalam penerapan pembelajaran jarak jauh secara penuh mengharuskan adanya interaksi terbatas yang masih dilakukan oleh pihak guru dengan orang tua sehingga protokol kesehatan tetap perlu dipahami dan dilaksanakan. Kondisi pandemi dengan jumlah kasus yang masih tinggi di Indonesia menunjukkan bahwa belum semua pihak memahami mengenai protokol kesehatan yang benar. Program pengabdian ditujukan untuk mengetahui gambaran pemahaman para guru dan orang tua terhadap COVID-19 dan melakukan edukasi terkait COVID -19 melalui media buku. Hasil kuesioner kepada 4 guru dan 38 orang tua murid menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar responden (67,67%) memiliki pengetahuan yang cukup mengenai COVID-19, 16,67% memiliki pengetahuan yang baik, sedangkan 16,67% responden memiliki pengetahuan yang kurang. Aspek yang masih belum banyak dipahami adalah terkait gejala penyakit serta persyaratan handsanitizer. Buku pintar disusun sesuai dengan hasil analisis pengetahuan tentang COVID-19. Buku ini diharapkan mampu meningkatkan pemahaman para guru dan orang tua murid dalam rangka meningkatkan kewaspadaan para pihak selama berinteraksi di sekolah maupun di lingkungan rumah masing-masing.
Gencarnya gaya hidup back to nature berdampak pada perilaku masyarakat dalam konsumsi tanaman obat baik yang masih alam maupun yang sudah dalam bentuk sediaan. Minimnya pengetahuan mengakibatkan penggunaan Tanaman Obat Keluarga (TOGA) yang kurang bijak, selain itu minimnya lahan terbatas juga membuat sulit untuk membudidayakan. Untuk itu pengabdi tergerak untuk meluruskan dari penyimpangan penggunaan TOGA dan mengajarkan tanaman tumbuh dalam pot (Tambulampot). Mitra yang digaet adalah Lembaga Lingkungan Hidup dan Penanggulangan Bencana Pimpinan Wilayah Aisyiyah Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (LLHPB PWA DIY) yang memiliki fokus terhadap permasalahan lingkungan, dengan menggerakkan potensi wanita. LLHPB memiliki 5 kader Aisyiyah di tiap kabupaten sehingga harapannya bisa ditularkan di tingkat ranting. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 15 Maret 2020 di Kampus Terpadu Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta dihadiri oleh 35 peserta dari LLHPB. Pada kegiatan ini juga menyosialisasikan Modul SALING TOGA di mana tiap peserta diukur dari pretes dan postes untuk evaluasi tingkat pemahaman. Pada kesempatan ini tiap daerah/POS diberikan paket TOGA sesuai penyakit yang marak dikalangan masyarakat diantaranya gangguan pada Nafas, Hormon, Cerna, Jantung dan Syaraf. Hasil program ini menunjukan adanya peningkatan pemahaman sebesar 13,7% tentang TOGA. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa sosialisasi bermanfaat bagi peningkatan pengetahuan bagi para kader dan harapannnya bisa secara rutin.
Aisyiyah Busthanul Athfal Kindergarten (TK ABA) is a pre-primary educational institution established by the Muhammadiyah foundation, which is expected to create quality future generations in terms of formal, religious, and social education. In managing a kindergarten institution, a management system and adequate human resources are needed in terms of skills such as information technology (IT) skills. The purpose of the community service activities carried out is to introduce IT skills to the teachers of TK ABA Ponggalan, Giwangan. These community service activities were carried out by providing 4-meetings, computer training, and introduction to computer applications that are important in learning management at TK ABA. The results of data analysis showed that 83.33% of teachers had never received formal or non-formal IT training. The evaluation of community service activities shows that 100% of teachers are satisfied with the training provided. The aspect with the lowest level of satisfaction is related to the adequacy of the material provided in the training because it is still at the introductory level. Through the service activities carried out, it can be concluded that providing IT training for teachers of TK ABA is essential in supporting the management and learning at TK ABA Ponggalan, Giwangan. This, of course, can increase the trust of parents and the interest of prospective students in schools, which indirectly affects school income and welfare.
