Political identity is the politicization of the cultural identity or an identity that an individual acquires by politicizing the conditions in which it finds itself. Like other identities, a political identity is formed in a process. This process is conceptualized as political socialization. Therefore, individuals adopt these identities in the process of political socialization. In the process of political socialization, factors such as family, environment, school, and mass media play an important role in the acquisition of an individual’s political identity. The family often plays a decisive role in the acquisition of political identity. This role may be more dominant, especially in Turkish society, where the family is still important. Therefore, as an institution where political interaction occurs, political behavior is shaped, and political attitudes are acquired, the family is close to political identity. This study aims to find out the role of the family in the adoption of left-wing identity, which is one of the political identities in Turkey, with the data obtained from the field. This field-based study was based on the qualitative research method. An in-depth interview technique had been used to collect data. The collected data was analyzed and interpreted using the descriptive analysis technique.
This study has investigated anti-vaccination justified with political, religious, ideological, and medical reasons in a sociological context. Furthermore, considering that anti-vaccinationists have become a social movement, it has explained organizational and action pattern of the anti-vaccinationists with the network society conception of Manuel Castells. Other salient issue is that anti-vaccination movements have started to be visible in an organized way with the Covid-19 pandemic in social media and public sphere and they have become a radical inclined political movement. Hence, the study has aimed to present a theoretical frame trying to explain anti-vaccination movements which is a relatively new phenomenon by focusing also on politicization dynamics of the anti-vaccinationists as a social movement.

The concept of the Islamic state, which is one of the main debates of Islamism, was an important source of motivation for Islamist movements, especially during the cold war. The debates in this context mostly focus on how to establish a relationship between the secular character of the modern state and Islam. In this study, Wael B. Hallaq's book titled The Impossible State: Islam, Politics, and Modernity's Moral Predicament will be reviewed. The book keeps this discussion current and offers a different perspective. Hallaq's main thesis reveals why an Islamic state is not possible within the modern paradigm. Hallaq bases his thesis on the paradigm difference between modern law and Islamic law.
