This study aimed to determine the implementation of POE (predict, observe, explain) learning model to improve students’ achievement at class XI students of SMA Negeri 10 Makassar. This type of research was classroom action research consisting of two cycles. Each cycle of classroom action research was carried out in four (4) stages, namely: planning, implementing,observing, and reflecting. The subjects in this study were 35 class XI students in SMA Negeri 10 Makassar. The result of research indicated that there were 6 students (68.85%) in cycle I and 33 students (94.28%) in cycle II that achieved minimum completeness criteria. This research can be concluded that POE learning model can develop students ideas by relating experiences or stories that have been obtained previously. Besides, students' creativity in using diction is very good when presenting the prediction results using the POE method. Thus it is necessary to develop a learning model in the teaching and learning process so that students know very well the meaning of the assessment process of various learning activities.
The study describes the students’ thinking skill, and metacognitive in problem solving reasoning (PSR) learning model at SMAN 19 Makassar in the academic year 2018/2019. The design of this research was Classroom Action Research (CAR) in which subject was students social science eleventh grade students that consisted of 69 students. Data were collected by using a problem-solving reasoning tests in the form of multiple choice, essay, oral and practice tests. Data of problem solving reasoning (PSR) abilities were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The results of this study show that: (1) The application of problem solving reasoning (PSR) can improve the statistical students’ metacognitive of social science eleventh grade students. In cycle I, the students’ English outcomes average reached 59.2, whereas in cycle II was successfully increased into 84.8, In cycle I, the students’ sociology and anthropology outcomes average reached 60.9, whereas in cycle II was successfully increased into 88.5 and in cycle I, the students’ Art and Culture outcomes average reached 62.3, whereas in cycle II was successfully increased into 86.9. (2) The application of problem solving reasoning (PSR) can improve students' metacognitive of social science XI grade students. These results indicate that there has been an increasing in percentage mastery learning by 20% from cycle I to cycle II.
English language becomes International language in which all peole have to learn it. Nevertheless, English language in Bantimurung Subdistrict of Maros regency is still low. The problem faced by team of service community namely : (1) students have less interest to learn English, (2) students do not have knowledge about strategy of english learning. The solution offered in community activity is to conduct workshop involving the strategy of English learning based animation for TK IT Fajar Mannuruki of Bantimurung Subdistrict in Regency of Maros. The objective of this community was to build students’ interest in learning strategy of English learning based on animation by connecting sound, picture, object colour and text into autoplay application. The method used in achieving these objectives is divided into three stages namely: preparation of training materials, the implementation of English learning based animation and evaluation. The result of this activity community showed that students participate in English learning based animation and students have spirit in answering quiz of vocabulary by connecting sound, colour, picture dan text.ABSTRAK. Bahasa Inggris menjadi bahasa Internasional dimana semua orang harus memperlajarinya mulai tingkat TK sampai tingkat universitas. Namun, Bahasa Inggris di Kecamatan Bantimurung masih rendah. Masalah yang dihadapi antara lain : (1) Kurangnya minat siswa dalam mempelajari bahasa Inggris. (2) Siswa tidak memiliki pengetahuan tentang multimedia dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris. Solusi yang ditawarkan dalam pengabdian masyarakat adalah melakukan workshop meliputi strategi pembelajaran bahasa Inggris berbasis animasi pada TK IT Fajar Mannuruki, kecamatan Bantimurung, Kabupaten Maros. Tujuan dilaksanakan pengabdian ini untuk membangun minat siswa tentang strategi belajar bahasa Inggris berbasis animasi dengan menghubungkan suara, gambar, warna objek teks dalam aplikasi pembelajaran bahasa Inggris. Metode yang digunakan untuk mencapai tujuan pengabdian tersebut terbagi dalam tiga tahap, antara lain : persiapan materi pelatihan yang akan diajarkan pada siswa, pelaksanaan strategi pembelajaran bahasa Inggris berbasis animasi dan evaluasi kegiatan. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa berpartisipasi dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris berbasis animasi dan siswa memiliki semangat dalam menjawab kuis berupa kosakata dengan menghubungkan suara,warna,gambar dan teks.
This research aimed to determine the effect of motivation on students' learning outcomes of social studies at SD Inpres Perumnas Antang Makassar. The type of this research is ex post facto research using a quantitative approach. This research was conducted in class V of SD Inpres Perumnas Antang Makassar. The instrument used in this research was a questionnaire to obtain motivational variable data. The data analysis technique used is inferential analysis using SPSS 20.0 for windows. Inferential analysis showed that there is an effect of motivation on social studies learning outcomes of students of SD Inpres Perumnas Antang II/I Makassar with a value of Sighitung 0,001 < α (0,05), then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted.
