Toba Caldera UNESCO Global Geopark (TCUGG) has not only geological phenomena of international geological significance value but also has outstanding universal value by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The establishment of TCUGG as a national priority and the Lake Toba Authority Agency is a serious commitment from the government to develop this region. Although it is now a super-priority tourism destination, over the last six decades, the water level of Lake Toba has decreased significantly by 2.4 cm per year from 1957 to 2016. The environmental quality index shows a decline from year to year, and environmental conditions of Lake Toba are already very severe due to various factors. The government and local communities are still running independently for the conservation agenda. This empirical research uses a mixed method of sequential explanation. The main objective of the research is to analyze the determinants of local people's choices to participate in conservation activities in TCUGG. From the research results, the significant factors that determine the local communities' participation in conservation activities are water availability, incentives, suitability of seeds, trust level for the initiator, and the success rate of previous conservation. Society does not need promises or rhetoric, especially for those who have participated before and experienced low success rates. Application of reward and punishment as an incentive for the community to participate in conservation activities and to further encourage their motivation. The main key is to serve the needs of the community in conservation practices.
As a provider of transportation services, the Commuter Line has experienced a fairly heavy impact due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Various policies were implemented to suppress the transmission of the virus on public transportation, especially on the KRL Commuter Line train. Currently, people feel that the policy rules for using the commuter line are felt to be loose by some parties, but KCI still has to implement physical distancing to break the chain of the spread of the virus such as limiting the number of passengers and the prohibition of receiving cellular phones or chatting while on the Commuter Line train. However, this has not significantly increased the number of people who reused the commuter line KRL compared to the number of users before the pandemic. The purpose of this research is to identify the level of satisfaction of KRL-Commuter Line transportation service users regarding the services provided during the pandemic and to identify the level of public trust in the public transportation services during the pandemic. The method used is a descriptive qualitative research method with technical analysis of IPA (Importance Performance Analysis). After analyzing, the results of this study indicate that most of the KRL-Commuter Line users are still not satisfied. It can be proven that in the analysis using IPA all the gaps between performance and expectations are negative, which means that the performance of KRL-Commuter Line transportation has not been in accordance with the
Competency development of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) has become an obligation for government agencies in Indonesia. This relates to the management of human resources carried out by the agency as an organization in order to find, use, maintain, and develop human beings. Innovation is carried out whose implementation is through changes in development patterns, changes in competency development governance, development of teaching tools such as learning management systems and knowledge management systems. Knowledge management system is a model that is currently being developed to accommodate the process of human resource management/ASN through training to maintain and develop the ability and willingness to share knowledge. The purpose of this study is to explain the various applications of knowledge management systems that were developed as innovations for developing ASN competencies. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research methodology, with the method of extracting data through a desk study based on the knowledge management system model document developed by government agencies. Based on the results of this study, it was found that the knowledge management system is the choice for government agencies to develop the competence of their employees. This system is well managed through good governance and in accordance with the needs of employee competency development. Knowledge management developed by government agencies can be an option for employees to develop competencies independently through colleagues. In conclusion, KMS in several government agencies that are examples in this study still need to be developed and maintained according to their respective
Tourism contributes greatly to a developing country as one of the driving sectors of the economy. The government and the management of tourist destinations must consistently improve the quality of tourism in terms of destinations, industries, institutions, and marketing because of the scope of tourism and the movement of millions of people on indirect tourist trips. So far, foreign tourists have become familiar with tourist destinations in Bali and Lombok. However, many tourist destinations in Indonesia have not been maximally introduced, like Samosir Island at Lake Toba Region. In 2016, the Government of Indonesia envisioned making Toba become the Monaco of Asia. This article examines the factors affecting how long visitors from other countries remain when vacationing in Samosir, a popular international travel destination in Indonesia. Using 100 hundred samples of international travelers' empirical modeling is carried out using a quantitative approach through Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) and descriptive analysis. The quality of the accommodations, infrastructure, and rising travel costs contribute to longer travel time for tourists. Although it does not considerably shorten the length of stay in Samosir, rising vacation expenditures in other locations are a bonus for adventurous foreign tourists in Indonesia. Although the appeal of nature and its peace appeal to visitors from abroad, income levels do not greatly raise demand for international visitors to Samosir. As an effort, brand management is needed to improve the image of Samosir Island as the city of foreign tourists in Indonesia.
Indonesia is included in the ranks of pineapple-producing countries (Ananas comosus L. Merr) after Brazil, Thailand, the Philippines and China. Abundant yields produce pineapple leaf waste as animal feed or just thrown away when in fact, it can be of high economic value and useful if processed properly. In line with the economic pillars in the Village Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to achieve quality economic growth through job opportunities, innovation, and supported partnerships, the group of farmers must have a strategy for developing their pineapple products. This study uses a descriptive approach and is located in Prabumulih City, South Sumatra Province. Data was collected by studying documentation obtained from electronic and physical documents, field observations and interviews with pineapple farmer groups and small business actors. This study found that pineapple leaf waste can now be processed into pineapple leaf fiber. Pineapple leaf fibers can be used as handicrafts and raw materials for woven fabrics. Pineapple leaf fiber is also produced into yarn to meet domestic and foreign market demands. Pineapple leaf waste that has been produced into pineapple leaf fiber and yarn can increase people's income.
