The aim of the article is to present activities of Slovene commercial diplomacy in the Western Balkan markets. The result of the analysis proves that Slovene commercial diplomacy in the Western Balkan markets followed enterprise preferences. Thus, in the first decade of transition (1991–2000) commercial diplomacy focused only on ex-Yugoslav markets, while non-ex-YU (Western Balkan) markets became interesting only after the year 2000. The article argues that this can be explained by the reactiveness (instead of proactiveness) of Slovene enterprises, which stems from the Slovene national character.
Svoje pesniške misli preliva na papir izključno v slovenščini, svojem prvem jeziku, medtem ko sta nemščina in angleščina jezika njene izobrazbe in poklicnega življenja.
In this article, the author analyses the overlap between the religious and the diplomatic/political aspects in the practice of celebrating masses for the homeland. The purpose of this article is to establish to what extent the diplomatic and political component is present in this practice, and how the homeland mass practice is understood in the Slovenian political context. For this purpose, the author analyses two aspects: the structure of masses for the homeland and the presence of diplomatic and political elements in the ceremony, and the attitude of young people towards the practice. The latter is relevant particularly because young people will become political decision makers in a few years. Their current views will then be reflected in the positions of their political parties.
The article deals with the role of cultural diplomacy in Slavic EU Member States. Its basic idea is to present the main characteristics of cultural diplomacy as a field of possible cooperation between the Slavic EU member countries. The conclusions of the research are three: firstly, the cultural diplomacy of the Slavic EU Member States is fragmented and diversified. Secondly, each country promotes its own cultural diplomacy and there is almost no cooperation between countries in the cultural field. Finally, cultural diplomacy is still an omitted instrument of Slavic EU Member States and a fertile ground for future collaboration within the EU and in the region of Central Europe.
