Ill-discipline has become a canker that threatens the moral fibre of institutions. This study aimed to explore the comprehensive counselling approaches that could be used to manage illdiscipline acts in Colleges of Education in Ghana. A qualitative discourse analysis study design was employed in the study. In all, 25 respondents were purposively selected from five colleges of education for the study using a semi-structured interview guide. Data collected were transcribed, coded, categorised and qualitatively analysed under themes that emerged from the analysis using the thematic approach. The study revealed that several ill-discipline acts exist in colleges of education, with perversion being the most prevailing ill-discipline act. The study recommended that the college council and management should put adequate measures in place to strengthen Guidance and Counselling units in the colleges of education. The study also recommended that college counsellors should be equipped to use appropriate counselling approaches and techniques to counsel students to desist from indulging in ill-discipline acts.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of stress on the job performance of psychiatric nurses in the Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital in Cape Coast. A descriptive survey design was adopted for the study. A sample of 150 psychiatric nurses were selected from a population of 197 psychiatric nurses using a simple random sampling procedure. Data were collected using the Weiman Occupational Stress Scale (WOSS) questionnaire. 143 answered questionnaires were retrieved out of the 150 questionnaires offered, giving a 95% return rate. Data were analysed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. The study revealed that the psychiatric nurses' job performance were negatively affected due to the effects of stress, which include mild to severe headache, loss of concentration, exhaustion, anger, overreaction, finding excuses and absence from work, and forgetfulness. The study recommended that the hospital authorities structure the work schedules of psychiatric nurses so that the nurses can get intermittent periods of leave away from work while providing the logistics to make the work of psychiatric nurses easy.

The purpose of the study was to investigate the impact of stress and burnout on the quality of life of pastors in Assemblies of God Church in the Ashanti Region, Ghana. A descriptive survey design was adopted for the study. A sample of 254 out of a population of 744 was used for the study using stratified and simple random sampling procedures. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analysed using means and standard deviations, linear multiple regression, independent samples t-test, and one-way Analysis of Variance. Results showed that the pastors often experienced stress and frustrations due to a lack of resources such as money and infrastructure, different roles competing for their attention (ministry and family), delays in reaching their ministry goals, and carrying out a lot of activities the same time. The study also found that the pastors felt emotionally drained by their work and felt burned out. The study revealed that the relationship between stress level and quality of life was statistically significant. Similarly, the relationship between burnout level and quality of life was statistically significant. It was recommended that the leadership of Assemblies of God Church, Ghana should organise intermittent workshops for their pastors in all their branches on how to cope with the emotional drains of pastoring.
