Objectives: To evaluate the quality of life of people with intestinal stomas and verify its association with sociodemographic and clinical characteristics. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out with 96 people registered in an ostomy program, with the use of the City of Hope-Quality of Life-Ostomy Questionnaire. Results: The mean score of total QoL in this study was 6.2± 2.8. The highest mean score was found in the spiritual well-being dimension 7.5 (±1.9) and the lowest in the social well-being dimension 5.6 (±2.1). Sociodemographic characteristics (per capita income, education level, religion) and clinical characteristics (length of use and adaptation to the stoma, length of time needed for ostomized people to feel comfortable, difficulty with self-care, and limitation to perform activities of daily living) were associated with total quality of life and its dimensions (p <0.05). Conclusion: Intestinal stomas interfere with quality of life, especially in physical and social dimensions. ResumoObjetivos: Objetivou-se avaliar a qualidade de vida de pessoas com estomias intestinais de eliminação e verificar sua associação com características sociodemográficas e clínicas. Métodos: Trata-se de estudo descritivo e transversal realizado com 96 pessoas cadastradas em um Programa de estomizados, utilizando o City of Hope -Quality of Life -Ostomy Questionnary. Resultados: O escore médio de QV total deste estudo foi 6,2 ± 2,8. O maior escore médio foi encontrado no domínio Bem-estar espiritual 7,5 (±1,9) e o menor no domínio Bem-estar social 5,6 (±2,1). As características sociodemográficas (renda per capita, escolaridade, religião) e as características clínicas (permanência e adaptação à estomia, tempo de estomizado para sentir-se confortável, dificuldade para o autocuidado e limitação para realização de atividades diárias) associaram-se a qualidade de vida total e seus domínios (p <0,05). Conclusão: As estomias intestinais de eliminação interferem na qualidade de vida, principalmente nos âmbitos físico e social.
Resumo Objetivo: Identificar na literatura a produção cientifica sobre as intervenções educativas utilizadas por enfermeiros na promoção da saúde do idoso. Métodos: Revisão integrativa de literatura realizada nas bases de dados LILACS, MEDLINE, CINAHL e Web of Science, entre 2007 e 2017, em português, inglês e espanhol, utilizando os descritores: “aged”; “aging”; “aged, 80 and over”; “health services for the aged”; “nursing”; “clinical trial”; “technology/ED”; “educational technology”; (health education AND technology”); “health promotion”, combinados por meio dos operadores booleanos “AND” e “OR”. Resultados: Foram incluídos 22 estudos. As intervenções educativas utilizadas por enfermeiros na promoção da saúde do idoso foram: orientações pedagógicas durante a consulta de enfermagem (50%), acompanhamento domiciliar (27,8%), aconselhamento com dinâmicas motivacionais (11,1%) e sessões educativas com estratégias lúdicas (11,1%). Conclusão: O Enfermeiro desempenha papel fundamental na promoção da saúde por coordenar o plano de cuidados pelo vínculo que estabelece com os usuários, familiares e cuidadores a partir de ações educativas capazes de modificar atitudes e proporcionar saúde. As ações educativas promoveram saúde por oportunizar a maior adoção de hábitos saudáveis, acompanhamento terapêutico e bem estar.
Objective: to construct and validate an educational gerontechnology on frailty in elderly people. Method: a methodological study developed in three stages: educational video construction, validation by expert judges and elderly people. Validation was carried out by 22 judges and 22 elderly people. Educational Content Validation Instrument was used for judges and questions adapted from the Suitability Assessment of Materials questionnaire for elderly people. For validation, agreement criterion greater than 80% was considered, verified using Content Validation Index and binomial test. Results: the video addresses recommendations for elderly people at risk of frailty and health-promoting habits, using cordel literature. An agreement greater than 80% was verified in all items assessed by judges and the target audience. Conclusion: the video proved to be valid in terms of content and appearance by judges and elderly people, with the potential to mediate health-promoting educational practices in healthy aging.
Objective: Reflect, in the light of the Health Belief Model, on the adoption of behavioral measures in the context of COVID-19. Methods: Theoretical-reflective essay, based on the Health Belief Model, to reflect on adherence to preventive behaviors in the pandemic of COVID-19. Results: Adherence to preventive behaviors is strongly influenced by socioeconomic, territorial, political and individual factors in the face of critical health situations. In addition, the spread of false news modulates the thinking and execution of behavioral actions in the population. Final Considerations: It is necessary to understand the importance of health communication processes and the use of tools aimed at responsible human behavior and engaged in the adoption of a preventive posture.
