Scientific literature has been shown several times the relation between the educational innovation linked to ICTs and the auto-perceived teaching well-being. This aspect wins a great importance during school change and improvement processes with the teachers' active participation. In the Spanish context, the Teaching Well-being Questionnaire is used with frequency, although it does not occur in the Portuguese framework. For this reason, the main aim of this study is to adapt the mentioned questionnaire to Portuguese language and context, wanting to analyze the situation of the neighboring country. The research proceeded with a descriptive and quantitative study through a questionnaire, with a sample (n = 273) composed by Portuguese teachers of first, second and third cycle. The results show explained variances, communalities, correlations, factorial weights and alphas with significant acceptance, as well as a positive expert judge. In conclusion, as original version of the questionnaire in Spanish language, there are clearly seven principal factors (motivations, emotions, skills, personal satisfaction, satisfaction towards the professional context, projects/values and school identity) that determine the teaching well-being in innovation processes with ICTs, and they can be assesses through a valid and reliable questionnaire adapted to the Portuguese context.
The main aim of this research is to understand future teachers' attitudes, knowledge and needs about Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). These courses may be a supplementary resource in higher education that can fill fields of knowledge which the curriculum could not encompass. In addition, this type of course can contribute significantly to both initial and continuing teacher training. For this reason, understanding students' perspectives on MOOCs is essential. For this reason a questionnaire was administered to students of the Bachelor in Teaching of Childhood Education, Bachelor in Teaching of Primary Education and Master in Training Teachers of Secondary Education (n=145). The results indicate that a large part of the sample confirm not that they do not know anything about MOOCs. The chapter concludes that universities need to train future teachers in MOOC culture. Keeping the focus on the book section “RIA and education practice of MOOCs”, this chapter provides a valuable research insight into the topic of “educational training design.”
Coexistence, democracy, citizenship, peace, tolerance, respect, cooperation, empathy and other similar terms are some concepts that make up the principles and aims of present education. For this reason, education managers design, develop and assess processes that try to reduce problems of coexistence. The main aim of this chapter is to show strategies for detecting problems of coexistence at school and to analyze the students' role in these processes. The background of the chapter is based on the following topics: school as a conflictive place, types of problems in coexistence, definitions and characteristics of the term conflict and models to improve coexistence at schools. After considering these ideas, the next step involves the analysis of some strategies for detecting problems of school coexistence. An important part of these strategies emphasizes student role in this task. However, students are often not properly trained to detect problems of coexistence at schools. Consequently, there are some processes for creating a school context based on democratic resolution of conflicts.
