ChemInform Abstract (Ag(IO6)2)7-, are studied in basic solution using Pt microelectrodes. From voltammetric and chronoamperometric results it is concluded that the electrochemical reduction of the periodate complex occurs via two electrochemical steps ((Ag(IO6)2)7-→ (Ag(OH)2)-→ Ag) with the final product deposited on the electrode surface. The Ag(III) periodate complex may decompose in aqueous solution yielding the aquo species (Ag(OH)2(IO6)(H2O))4-.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
