The family farming segment plays an important socioeconomic role in the Brazilian economy. Its development is a precondition for a more economically efficient and just society. Family farming contributes to promoting rural development insofar as it constitutes an alternative to the major problems affecting the rural environment and its population. In this context, the present study sought to evaluate sustainable practices in family farming in the Rio Grande do Sul State (Brazil) using a diffuse multicriteria decision model. By applying the fuzzy TOPSIS (Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) method, the most sustainable family properties were classified, demonstrating that the criteria most prioritized by the specialists were the proper disposal of waste, hiring local and regional labor, and concern over work accidents. According to our findings, the family farm that was the most aligned with sustainable practices produces yogurt‐based cheese, with about 26 years of activity in the industry. In addition, the differential in the surveyed businesses demonstrates the relevance of being aligned with practices to mitigate problems related to the environment.
PurposeThis study examines the relationship between the innovation ecosystem and performance measurement models. Although the innovation ecosystem and measurement models are widely recognized, the existing literature lacks a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between the proposed themes. Furthermore, it does not reveal how studies can be grouped to propose a thematic typology of the relationship.Design/methodology/approachThe authors present a systematic literature review conducted in the Web of Science and Scopus databases, from a textual corpus that aided the proposition of the typology that aims to provide answers regarding the addressed themes.FindingsThe results of this review are based on a total of sixty peer-reviewed articles from the innovation ecosystem literature and performance measurement models between 1995 and 2020. The results make several contributions to the literature. First, by integrating evidence from empirical studies, the authors identified a typology formed by three classes: (1) ecosystem agents (2) analytical focus and (3) structured measurement tools. Second, the authors verified the relationship between the themes and discovered the existence of gaps to be filled, with the proposition of three drivers. Third, the authors presented a comprehensive mapping of field studies with a descriptive analysis of the textual corpus.Originality/valueThe results of the research provide important implications for researchers, managers and policy makers. Furthermore, the authors suggest directions for future research, including the need to examine the performance of the entire innovation ecosystem, integrating the different agents that exist for performance measurement.
The study aims to analyze the influence of gender on the relationship between Work-Family Enrichment (ETF and EFT), Organizational Citizenship Behaviors (OCC) and the possible moderating effects that EFT may have on the ETF's relations with the dimensions of the CCO scale among Brazilian Air Force military personnel. Through a quantitative study, the analyzes were performed using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) and multigroup analysis (MGA) method. The results demonstrate that the relationship between the dimensions of the ETF and the dimensions of the CCO are equal between genders. However, the research makes it possible to know the characteristics that contribute to the Work-Family Enrichment process and to the manifestation of Organizational Citizenship Behavior.
Purpose – The changes that occurred in the market, resulting from technological advancement, made companies pay attention to innovation in their processes, products or services, as a way to stand out. To enhance innovation in companies, focusing on leadership is an effective way. In this sense, the present study aimed to develop a model in order to list the priorities related to leadership and its interface with innovation, under the top management perspective of a telecommunications company.Design/methodology/approach – For the development of the model, the Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (Fuzzy-AHP) method was used to identify such factors and the best alternatives so that the investigated company can make consistent decisions. Thus, the criteria chosen by the Manager and Director were discovered, as well as the alternatives that they cherish, contributing to the development of innovation within the company.Findings – The results showed that the perception of the two interviewees was similar, however, it is emphasized that they should better choose how to apply innovation within the company.Originality/value – This study opens the way to highlight the importance of the theme of leadership and its interface with innovation for professionals in the management area, favoring decision making, in addition to contributing to the literature, deepening the debate on the theme of leadership and innovation, which is still incipient and needs development.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
