In this study, an obstacle unlikely faced by teacher is the lack of innovation in the learning model employed. The teachers are still being the center of learning resources so that they are made to correct the perception by creating a learning model that students prefer. This study aims to provide a new design in environment-based-learning (EBL) to improve geographical skills and to encourage students to think critically, innovatively and to come up with solutions. This research was development study of environment-based-learning in geography teaching. Learning media used covered syllabus, lesson plans, student modules and EBL teaching materials. Samples consisted of 32 students aged 13-14 years who were purposively selected. Data collection techniques were a compilation of observation, interviews, questionnaires documentation, and test. Data were analyzed from the syllabus, study plan, and student module validation along with instructional media, teacher and student response questionnaire, teacher and student interviews, student observation sheets, and students' learning outcomes. EBL model design consisted of 5 steps, encountering the problem, problem analysis, discovery and reporting, presentation, and review and evaluation. The students' learning outcome that asses by a test base on geographical skill indicator revealed that students' geographical skills increase. The indication are the students able on thinking critically about changes taken place in their environment, so they could present environmentally friendly measures. Besides, students preferred the new design of EBL as they were welcomed to think in a critical, innovative, and solvable way of solving problems in their environment to improve their geographical skills. Those provided students a belief in loving geography education from an early age.
Spatial thinking is main feature of learning geography at school. A map and remote sensing imagery could be integrated to whole materials in spatial thinking skill test. This research aims to analyze spatial thinking skill of students by using map and and remote sensing imagery in Public SMA Negeri 1 Bae Kudus. This research uses quantitative approach. The sampling technique is random sampling from X, XI, and XII grades. The technique of collecting data uses test. The used test in this research is average accomplishment test which is then described. The findings showed average accomplishment of the students' spatial thinking skills were not optimal. The average score found by using map was higher than remote sensing imagery. The low level of the students' spatial thinking skills could be used as initial reference to compose learning material and learning evaluation in improving spatial thinking skill of the students by using map and remote sensing imagery.
The used of internet, by increasingly gadget usage of Indonesian as much as 132,7, should be able to use positive thing such as developing natural disaster digital literacy. Indonesia territory is located in natural disaster prone area, such as hydrometeorology. It is included annual natural disaster which always hit Indonesia; flood and landslide disasters have high intensity. To minimize it Government collaborate with college has various effort to overcome it; however, natural disaster costs caused by hidrometeorologi still occurred especially on rainy season. Based on that case, it is needed to natural disaster education to the community by using the newest technology which can be used by anyone, anywhere and anytime such natural disaster digital literacy, this breakthrough can be done by habituating academic community as the user of the technology, they are the college students to utilize their gadget as media of natural disaster digital literacy. The development of digital media, facilitate natural disaster education enforcement for the college. Based on the case, researcher deliver this paper entitled The Development Concept of Natural disaster Digital Literacy (DILIBA) Android Based of Students' Understanding at Primary Teacher Education Study Program, Peradaban University. The aim of this research: 1) Draw up an understanding material of hidrometeorologi natural disaster for students of Primary Teacher Education Study Program, Peradaban University; 2) Create development concept of digital literacy Media Android based (DILIBA); 3) Make a digital comic application concept of natural disaster that can be used in all phone android based.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the social character of students in habituation in typical Kempek junior high school based on pesantren, with the merger of schools and boarding schools, education not only prioritizes the intelligence of knowledge and technology but also the importance of ahlak and moral intelligence for students. Qualitative research methods with phenomenological approach. Data collection was done by interview, observation and documentation. The results showed that the social interaction of typical Kempek Junior High School students was good and communicative, student social interaction activities were also internalized with deliberation activities at the pesantren. The social character of students is implemented such as simple life, washing clothes, mutual cooperation both at school and in boarding schools, visiting friends who are sick, lending money. The religious character of students in schools and in boarding schools is instilled to pray in congregation, learn the yellow book, read the Quran. Students ' habituation starts from 04:00 in the morning until 23: 30 at midnight, activities such as praying in congregation, studying the Yellow Book, deliberation, school and social activities. Discipline a conducive habituation process can develop students in the renewal of social character education according to the demands of values and norms in the community.
