Indonesia is a disaster-prone country but public awareness of disasters is still low. To improve community disaster literacy, schools are the most effective vehicle. Improved disaster mitigation literacy can be achieved by integrating disaster education into subjects taught in school and associating it with the local wisdom owned by the community. This research aimed to determine and learn from the local wisdom of lamban langgakh (stilt houses), develop a disaster mitigation literacy model for subjects in schools, and identify the level of disaster mitigation literacy of junior and senior high school students in the West Coast District (WCR) of Lampung Province. The study was conducted in two stages: identifying and analyzing comprehensive information about lamban langgakh and developing an indirect teaching model as a students’ disaster mitigation literacy model through the ADDIE development model. This research produced a new model to improve students’ disaster mitigation literacy by integrating it with school subjects and local wisdom owned by local communities.
The shore erosion in Rembang District during 2003-2014 resulted in huge losses. This study was conducted in the Coastal District of Kragan because of frequent shore erosion. Coastal of Sumurtawang and Kragan have erosion. Coastal of Pandangan Wetan, Balongmulyo, and Tanjungan are stable due to the construction of a small port in the village of Karanganyar which affects the surrounding area. The capacity of indigenous knowledge is as high as local wisdom, perception and attitude of the community in handling shore erosion. Coping strategies is also as high as the value of human capital, social, financial, natural, and physical. There is a correlation between community capacity variables, it means that if the capacity of indigenous knowledge is high, then the coping strategies is also high. But, the capacity of indigenous knowledge does not significantly affect the coping strategies. The relation of these capacities determines the priority of settlement.

Abstract-The current trends of blood supply shortage have raised the concern about the ability to meet the blood product demand in the future. At the time of high demand for blood products especially during festive seasons, Malaysia is unable to encounter the demand. As a result, the quality of human life is affected. This has created the prerequisite to understand the scenario and recognizing the factors that may influence people's intention to donate blood. The purpose of this survey-based study is to investigate the implication of socio-demographic factors in measuring the intention of the public to involve in a blood donation program specifically in Perlis population, Malaysia. The findings indicated that, among the socio-demographic factors, gender is predicted to have the greatest association with intention to donate blood than others. Besides, individuals who have blood donation experience in life were more desired to do again their behavior in the future than those who are not. The new discoveries generated are believed to be valuable for future research as well as in designing future blood donation program in order to encourage the participation of the public.Index Terms-Blood donation, intention to donate blood, socio-demographic determinants.
