The purpose of this study is to determine whether the flipped learning method via MOODLE can improve learning outcomes and motivation to learn discrete mathematics during COVID-19 pandemic. This is because discrete mathematics is one of the mathematics subjects that requires a lot of practice and needs direct direction by lecturers or educators. In this study, we used Classroom Action Research that consisted of two cycles. The stages in each cycle were plan, implementation, observation, and reflection. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the flipped learning method via MOODLE can improve the learning outcomes of discrete mathematics from only 30% of students who complete to 100% of students completed. In addition, students’ discrete mathematics learning motivation increased from 45% or medium criteria to 79% or high criteria. The stages that can be used are (1) lecturers provide stimulus through questions to students to find references independently of a question, (2) students learn the material independently and make questions about the material which is not yet understood, (3) students and lecturers conduct discussions to correct misconceptions, and (4) students work on questions from lecturers as evaluation.
Deretan bencana alam terjadi di Indonesia dalam kurun waktu 2018. Sampai Oktober 2018, Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Bencana (BNPB) mencatat telah terjadi 1.999 bencana, diantaranya tanah longsor, gempa bumi, tsunami, dan banjir bandang. Akibat bencana alam tersebut lebih dari 3.548 orang meninggal dunia dan hilang. Bencana alam yang terjadi di Indonesia disebabkan karena letak geografis Indonesia diantara tiga lempeng yaitu lempeng Australia, lempeng Eurasia, dan lempeng Pasifik. Pergerakan lempeng menjadikan Indonesia berpeluang besar mengalami bencana alam. Oleh karena itu, masyarakat Indonesia harus siap dan tanggap dalam menghadapi bencana alam. LUDO 3D-MB Media menjadi solusi untuk memperkenalkan siswa SMP dalam menghadapi bencana alam dengan pendekatan matematika materi bangun ruang. Perbedaan LUDO 3D-MB Media dengan LUDO pada umumnya adalah setiap petak memiliki kartu yang berisi sikap siaga menghadapi suatu peristiwa bencana alam tertentu yang dihubungkan dengan soal cerita matematika bangun ruang. Sebagai contoh “Salah satu upaya mencegah banyaknya korban gempa bumi adalah dengan meletakkan barang yang berat di bawah dan barang yang ringan di atas. Jika di dalam kamarmu terdapat lemari yang berukuran , dan televisi berbentuk kubus dengan volume , Kamu harus memasukkan televisi tersebut ke dalam lemari bagian bawah untuk mencegah adanya korban. Berapakah volume lemari yang tidak ditempati televisi?”. Adanya LUDO 3D-MB Media dapat mendidik sejak dini kesiapsiagaan bencana alam melalui lingkup pendidikan formal.
