The objective of the present study was to evaluate the giving of baker yeast and taurine mixture in culture media on the population density of Daphnia sp.. The completely randomized design method was used in this study with four treatments and four replications. The treatments studied were the giving of chicken manure 1 g/l as control (P0), the giving of baker yeast and taurine mixture 1 g/l (P1), the giving of baker yeast and taurine mixture 2,5 g/l (P2), and the giving of baker yeast and taurine mixture 4 g/l (P3). Daphnia sp. stocking density was 100 individu/l with the size of 1,5-2 mm. The culture period of Daphnia sp. culture was 16 days. The parameters observed in this study are population density, peak population, and water quality parameters. The ANOVA test showed that the giving of yeast and taurine mix in culture media gave significant effect on the population density of Daphnia sp. Population density of Daphnia sp. the highest was obtained in the treatment of giving 2.5 g / l of baker yeast and taurine mix in cultural media (P2) which is 1320,35 Ind / l with a peak population on the 10th day.
The objective of the present study was to evaluate the giving candlenut oil (aleurites moluccanus) in commercial feed on feed conversion ratio and feed efficiency of bileh fish (Rasbora sp.). Thecompletely randomized design method was used in this study with four treatments and three replications. The treatments studied were pellet without the giving candlenut oil (P0), pellet with the giving candlenut oil 5%/kg of feed (P1), pellet with the giving candlenut oil 10%/kg of feed (P2) and pellet with the giving candlenut oil 15%/kg of feed (P3). Bileh fish seed stocking density was 1 individu/l with the length of 3,5-4 cm and weight of 0,61-0,86 g. The culture period of fish farming was 40 days. The ANOVA test showed that the commercial feed with the giving candlenut oil gave significant effect on feed conversion ratio, feed efficiency, specific growth rate of bileh fish (Rasbora sp.), but did not give significant effect on survival rate of bileh fish seed. The best dose to increase feed efficiency and low feed conversion ratio of bileh fish seed is pellet with the giving candlenut oil 15%/kg of feed (P3).
This study aimed to examine the effect of Gamal leaves flour supplementation in commercial feed on the growth of Nirwana tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) fingerlings. The experimental design used was a non-factorial completely randomized design consisting of four treatments and four replications. The treatments studied included commercial feed without supplementation of Gamal leaves flour as a control (P0), commercial feed with supplementation of Gamal leaves flour 10% kg−1 feed (P1), commercial feed with supplementation of Gamal leaves flour 15% kg−1 feed (P2), and commercial feed with supplementation of Gamal leaves flour 20% kg−1 feed (P3). Nirwana tilapia fingerlings were stocked at a density of 1 fish L−1. Nirwana tilapia fingerlings size ranges from 2-3 cm. Nirwana tilapia fingerlings maintenance period lasts for 40 days. The Annova test showed that the treatment gave a significant effect on the weight gain, length gain, daily growth rate, and feed conversion ratio (P < 0,05), but did not give a significant effect on the survival rate of Nirwana tilapia fingerlings (P > 0,05). The best dose to increase the growth of Nirwana tilapia fingerlings was commercial feed with supplementation of Gamal leaves flour 10% kg−1 feed.
Snakehead fish (Channa sp.) is one of Indonesia's native freshwater commodities that has been successfully domesticated by fish farmers, yet the domesticated snakehead fish culture still has problems, namely the low survival and growth of local snakehead fish. Overcoming this problem requires a technology that can optimize the survival and growth of the domesticated snakehead fish (Channa sp.). One technology that can be applied is the use of probiotics. This reserach aimed to examine different probiotics through feed to optimize the survival and growth of domesticated snakehead fish (Channa sp.). This research was conducted with an experimental method. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were control treatment (P0), treatment with probiotic composition of Lactobacillus sp., Bacillus spp. and Nitrosomonas sp. (P1), treatment with probiotic composition of Lactobacillus casei and Saccharomyces cerevisiae (P2), and treatment with probiotic composition of Lactobacillus sp., Acetobacter, Rhodobacter sp., yeast (P3). The results showed that different probiotic feeding had a significant effect (P<0.05) on the survival parameters and different probiotic feeding compositions had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the growth parameters. The composition of Lactobacillus casei and Saccharomyces cerevisiae probiotics is the best probiotic composition to increase survival and growth of domesticated snakehead fish. Keywords: Domestication, Growth, Survival Rate, Probiotic
