ABSTRAKFungi endofit dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber daya baru untuk menghasilkan senyawa bioaktif seperti antibakteri, antioksidan dan antikanker. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis daya antibakteri, antioksidan, sitotoksik fraksi hasil pemisahan ekstrak etil asetat dari miselium fungi endofit genus Fusarium sp. Fraksi dietil eter menunjukan aktivitas antibakteri yang tinggi dengan nilai IC 50 pada bakteri E.coli (20,75 µg/mL), S.typhi (35,08 μg/mL), dan S.aureus (51,96 µg/mL). Uji aktivitas antioksidan menunjukan bahwa fraksi etanol 96% mempunyai aktivitas antioksidan dan kandungan fenolik total yang paling tinggi (75,85 ± 0,11 mg GAE). Uji sitotoksik pada sel kanker payudara jenis T47D menunjukan fraksi dietil eter mempunyai aktivitas tertinggi dengan IC 50 sebesar 10,16±0,88 µg/mL dibandingkan fraksi n-heksan dan etanol.Kata kunci: antibakteri, antioksidan, fungi endofit, kandungan fenolat total, sitotoksisitas ABSTRACT Endophytic fungi used as a new resource to produce bioactive compounds such as antibacterial, antioxidant and anticancer. This study aimed to analyze the antibacterial, antioxidant, cytotoxic fraction from separation ethyl acetate extract of mycelium of endophytic fungi genus Fusarium sp. Diethyl ether fraction showed high antibacterial activity in E.coli (20.75 µg/mL), S.typhi (35.08 µg/mL), and S.aureus (51.96 µg/mL). Test showed that the antioxidant activity of ethanol 96% fraction has highest antioxidant activity and total phenolic content (75.85 ± 0.87 mg GAE). Cytotoxic test on T47D breast cancer cells showed that the fraction of diethyl ether have highest activity with IC 50 of 10.16 ± 0.88 µg /mL compared to n-hexane and ethanol fraction.
SINTESIS SENYAWA KOORDINASI ASTAXANTHIN DENGAN BANTUAN GELOMBANG ULTRASONIK. Astaxanthin merupakan senyawa turunan karotenoid xantofil yang sangat potensial dalam pengobatan kanker. Salah satu upaya meningkatkan aktivitas anti kanker dari astaxanthin adalah dengan menggabungkan senyawa astaxanthin dengan ion logam. Upaya sintesis senyawa koordinasi astaxanthin dengan ion logam Fe 3+ , Mn 2+ , dan Zn 2+ telah dilakukan dengan bantuan gelombang ultrasonik. Panjang gelombang maksimal senyawa kompleks Mn(II)-Astaxanthin adalah 473 nm, Fe(III)-Astaxanthin adalah 355 nm, dan Zn(II)-Astaxanthin adalah 473 nm. Hasil FTIR menunjukan munculnya gugus fungsi khas astaxanthin pada semua kompleks dan munculnya serapan pada 535 cm-1 , untuk kompleks Mn(II)-Astaxanthin, 397 cm-1 untuk Fe(III)-Astaxanthin, dan 535 cm-1 untuk Zn(II)-Astaxanthin yang mengindikasikan adanya ikatan logam dengan atom donor dari Astaxanthin.
Pharmacists and pharmaceutical personnel need to support improving the people’s quality of life during the covid-19 outbreak by providing pharmaceutical services, one of which is the Drug Information Service (PIO). Many regions in Indonesia, including DKI Jakarta, have placed large-scale social restrictions since March 2020. In connection with that, the Department of Pharmacy of Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia (PSFUAJ) organized an online PIO program. This program aimed to provide the service of Covid-19 drug-related information and education to the community. The PIO was carried out from April to July 2020 via whatsapp, email, and telephone. In addition, health education was provided through e-flyers, published on Instagram @pio_farmasi_uaj. Eighty percent of the questions were submitted via whatsapp, while the rest was sent via email. Most of the questions submitted (80%) were categorized into self-edication. Further examination shows that the common questions were related to drug choice (27.78%). These data indicate that most questioners tend to provide self-medication first and that they will only see a doctor if they have not recovered or experienced any improvement. PSFUAJ will continue running this program and disseminating this program to a broader audience.
Pharmacy education in Indonesia mainly involves a four-year undergraduate degree, followed by a one-year professional pharmacy programme. The curriculum and learning outcomes of undergraduate and professional pharmacy programmes follow academic standards set by the Association of Indonesian Pharmacy Higher Education, based on the Seven Star Pharmacist concept developed by the World Health Organisation (WHO). Most pharmacy undergraduate programmes are focused on general pharmacy skills and knowledge, which includes pharmaceutical sciences and clinical pharmacy. Professional pharmacy programmes provide more pharmacy practice training and skills; thus, graduates have broader career opportunities than undergraduates because they are prepared for higher responsibilities within pharmacy practice. Although there have been significant improvements in pharmacy education, there remain challenges related to government policies, stakeholder agreements, educational offerings, competencies, and training. This requires considerable collective efforts from the government, educational systems, associations, and other stakeholders to improve the role of pharmacists in Indonesia.
