The use of multimedia technologies in education has enabled teachers to simulate final outcomes and assist students in applying knowledge learned from textbooks, thereby compensating for the deficiency of traditional teaching methods. It is important to examine how effective the technologies are in practical use. The purpose of the study was to describe the implementation of interactive multimedia and to describe the level of defiance of the eighth grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta in learning of Simple Present Tense. The study utilized a teaching experiment with a non-equivalent pretest-posttest experimental group design to test and discuss students’ professional cognition, operating skill cognition, and level of learning achievement during the learning process. No significant differences emerged between the groups in regards to professional cognition or operation skills cognition. However, a significant difference in learning achievement was noted, indicating that the treatment with multimedia produced greater achievement than with traditional learning methods. Results are explained in detail and recommendations for further research provided. The result showed that teaching learning process by using multimedia is not only helping teacher in delivering the target language but also motivating the students in learning where it providesaudio and visual materials that make the students attract to the lesson and give more attention to it.
Learning English in Junior High School emphasizes on four language skills, they are speaking,writing, reading,and listening. However, it sometimes collides with the complexity of grammar, one of which is learning the present simple present tense in which for some people is acomplicated matter and makes it difficult for them in understanding English. Departing from this problem, a new breakthrough is needed, so that students are interested in learning English. Today’s education emphasizes on how to learn by utilizing technological sophistication, then Multimedia is one of the technologies that can be used to stimulate thoughts, feelings, concerns, and abilities or skills of learners. This technology has a very positive impact on students since it can provide solutions and ease in carrying out the learning process. The purpose of the study was to describe the implementation of interactive multimedia and to describe the level of defiance of the eighth grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah I Surakarta in learning of Simple Present Tense. The study employed a quantitative research approach, and the type used was an experiment. The experimental design in this study was randomized pre-test post-test design. The sample in this study was class VIII A, assigned as the Experiment Group 1 (EG1) who was taught by using interactive multimedia, while class VIII B, assigned as the Experimental Group 2 (EG2) who was taught by using the lecturing method and supported by using a handout. After learning was complete, both groups were given the same post-test. The result found that the EG1 who given treatment by using interactive multimedia got higher results than the EG2 who treated by Handout, where the mean score of the EG1 was 83.04, while the mean score of the EG2 was 72.96. Based on the result above, it was indicated that the students of SMP Muhammadiyah I Surakarta was more comprehend in learning The Simple Present Tense by using interactive multimedia better than conventionally, since interactive multimeda can build their creativity power and increase their understanding in English.
The study was an experimental study that aims to improve early childhood’s education students in English vocabulary skills through interactive songs learning method for early childhood at PAUD Tarbiyatul Athfal 49, that was located in Kuripan, Ngadirgo village, Mijen district, Semarang. The study involved two groups of students, those were the control group (25 students) who were taught by using pictures, and the experimental group (25 students) who were taught by using songs. The pre-test was given before the treatment began and the post-test was carried out after the experiment was finished. The null hypothesis was then drawn, and T-test was also conducted to compare the mean score of the two groups. The mean score of the control group was 13.3, while the mean score of the experimental group was 16.4. The results showed that the mean score of the experimental group was higher than the control groups The t-test that had been carried out also showed that there were significant difference between the two groups was 0,23 (the figure was above 0,5). Based on the above results, it proved that Tarbiyatul Athfal early childhood education students understood in English by using songs was better than other learning method, since songs can motivate them to know more about English vocabulary
Desa Tawangsari merupakan sebuah desa yang terletak di Kecamatan Teras, Kabupaten Boyolali, Provinsi Jawa Tengah yang memiliki potensi wisata alam, pertanian, perkebunan, dan unit usaha kecil menengah. Desa Tawangsari mempunyai kelompok Usaha Peningkatan Pendapatan Keluarga Sejahtera (UPPKS) yang bernama “Melati” yang melatih ibu-ibu rumah tangga membuat karak atau kerupuk beras dan kelompok “Lembu Andhini” mengolah susu sapi dari peternakan desa menjadi dodol dan yougurt. Selain itu, pemerintah Desa Tawangsari juga mendorong penyandang disabilitas dengan membentuk Kelompok “Srikandi Patra” untuk menggali potensi membatik.Pemanfaatan Teknologi Informasi (TI) khususnya e-commerce dalam memperluas pangsa pasar. Sebagai rintisan, pelatihan ini melibatkan pelaku UMKM di Desa Tawangsari yang sudah mempunyai usaha sehingga dapat meningkatkan pemasaran dan penjualan dari produk dan jasa yang dihasilkan. Kegiatan abdimas di Desa Tawangsari dilakukan dengan memberikan beberapa macam pelatihan kepada mitra, praktik pembuatan media sosial, pendampingan setelah mitra mendapatkan pelatihan dan peningkatan pengetahuan, kemudian monitoring dan evaluasi. Pelatihan yang diberikan yaitu cara menggunakan aplikasi media sosial seperti Instagram, facebook, dan beberapa e-commerce. Kemudian tim abdimas juga memberikan pelatihan marketing dan pelatihan dasar fotografi agar mendapatkan hasil foto yang menarik. Kebermanfaatan program abdimas terlihat dari peningkatan pengetahuan, keterampilan memanfaatkan teknologi informasi yang berpotensi meningkatkan kehidupan ekonomi warga dan mengembangkan potensi warga Desa Tawangssari agar dikenal lebih luas.
