This article focuses on sharing information and knowledge in the form of scholars’ academic communication about the COVID-19 epidemic in international publications. The data was collected from search results in the Scopus database from December 2019 to March 2020. Through the bibliometric assessment method, the survey shows that there are 1475 publications on COVID-19. There are 1104 publications (75%) that can be accessed. Although COVID-19 has started about four months since the first case in Hubei China (11/17/20), scholars are making a research program and publish their findings in order to share information and knowledge in dealing with the pandemic. The sharing information is theoretically a form of world scholarly academic communication activities. Therefore, open access publications can help scholars to easily communicate and share information about their findings. This then affects the number of publications and citations with the capacity of research institutions, sponsors, and countries. This article recommends as broad as possible to provide open access in the midst of disaster situations in order to handle COVID-19 pandemic faster and easier.
ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui penerapan objektivitas dari pemberitaan penahanan Habib Rizieq Shihab yang dirilis media online Detik.com pada Desember 2020 lalu, dikaji dengan prinsip faktualitas dan prinsip imparsialitas model Westerstahl. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu studi deskriptif dengan teknik analisis isi. Mengacu pada teori objektivitas yang dikemukakan Denis McQuail yang dapat mengukur keobjektifan sebuah berita dilihat dengan faktualitas dan imparsialitas yang diterapkan pada berita tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media online Detik.com belum sepenuhnya menerapkan prinsip objektivitas. Kriteria faktualitas berita tersebut sudah diterapkan karena berita mengandung unsur 5 W + 1 H, informasi yang disajikan merupakan informasi baru, serta adanya kesesuaian antara judul dan isi berita. Sedangkan kriteria imparsialitas belum sepenuhnya diterapkan karena tidak memasukkan pernyataan dari dua belah pihak, serta terdapat opini dari pembuat berita yang terkesan menyudutkan salah satu pihak. ABSTRACT This study was conducted to determine the application of objectivity from the news of the detention of Habib Rizieq Shihab which was released by the online media Detik.com in December 2020, studied with the principle of factuality and the principle of impartiality of the Westerstahl model. The method used in this research is a descriptive study with content analysis techniques. Referring to the objectivity theory put forward by Denis McQuail which can measure the objectivity of a news seen by the factuality and impartiality applied to the news. The results show that the online media Detik.com has not fully implemented the principle of objectivity. The factuality criteria of the news have been applied because the news contains elements of 5 W + 1 H, the information presented is new information, and there is a match between the title and content of the news. While the impartiality criteria have not been fully implemented because they do not include statements from both parties, and there are opinions from news makers who seem to corner one parties.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menggambarkan planning, organizing, Actuating dan Controllingsurat kabar Radar Karawang di era digital. Penelitian ini menggunakan konsep fungsi manajemen George R. Terryyang lebih dikenal dengan istilah POAC. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metodedeskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan datanya melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tahap perencanaan surat kabarmenghadapi era digital merupakan langkah awal yang dilakukan oleh semua orang yang terlibat dalam memproduksi beritauntuk memutuskan apa yang akan dilakukan, tahapan apa yang harus dilakukan dan siapa yang akan dilibatkan. Organizing dilakukan dengan cara membagi tugas tetap dan tugas sementara, kemudian penggerakkan yang dilakukan didasarkan atas deskripsi pekerjaan dari para kru yang bertugas, selanjutnya pengawasan pembuatan berita yaitu tindakan mengawasi kegiatan produski agar sesuai rencana. This study aims to find out and describe the planning, organizing, acting and controlling of the Radar Karawang newspaper in the digital era. This study uses the management function concept of George R. Terry, better known as POAC. The research method used is descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The data collection technique is through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study show that the planning stage of the newspaper facing the digital era is the first step taken by everyone involved in producing the news to decide what to do, what stages to do and who will be involved. Organizing is done by dividing the permanent assignments and temporary tasks, then the mobilizers carried out are based on job descriptions of the crew on duty, then supervision of the production of news is the act of supervising production activities so that they are according to plan
Publikasi adalah kegiatan menyebarluaskan informasi kepada publik. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui proses penemuan masalah/pencarian data dan fakta, perencanaan dan pemrograman, mengambil tindakan dan komunikasi, dan kegiatan evaluasi pada publikasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan konsep 4 Steps Public Relations dari Cutlip, Center and Broom. Landasan penelitian ini berpijak pada konsep 4 Steps Public Relations yang mengacu kepada publikasi dan Public Relations. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, metode deskriptif kualitatif dan paradigma kontruktivisme, teknik pengumpulan data yang di lakukan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan wawancara dan observasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan: pertama, Defining Public Relations Problem: Pengumpulan data travel, menentukan bahan publikasi, koordinasi, sponsorship, pengajuan proposal kegiatan. Kedua, Planning and Programming: Menentukan dan memahami tujuan dan target, planning tema dan desain grafis untuk publikasi. Ketiga, Taking Action and Communicating: Menentukan bentuk publikasi, penggunaan media dalam publikasi dan sasaran komunikasi. Keempat, Evaluations: Melihat respon masyarakat, melihat kunjungan publik P2TKHU, melakukan upaya peningkatan kualitas publikasi. Publication is the activity of disseminating information to the public. The purpose of this research is to find out the process of finding problems/finding data and facts, planning and programming, taking action and communication, and evaluating activities in publications. This research uses the concept of 4 Steps Public Relations from Cutlip, Center and Broom. The basis of this research rests on the concept of 4 Steps Public Relations which refers to publications and Public Relations. This Research uses a qualitative approach, qualitative descriptive methods and constructivism paradigms, data collection techniques carried out in this research using interviews and observation. Based on the results of the research concluded: first, Defining Public Relations Problem: Collection of travel data, determine material for publication, coordination, sponsorship, submission of proposal activities. Second, Planning and Programming: Determine and understand objectives and targets, planning themes and graphic design for publication. Third, Taking Action and Communicating: Determine the form of publication, use of media in publications and communication goals. Fourth, Evaluations: Seeing the response of the community, seeing P2TKHU's public visit, making efforts to improve the quality of publications.
