Ahead of the 2024 election, some figures are familiar with mediating themselves with social media. The purpose of this study is to understand the persona and analyze the post-commodification of social media on Ridwan Kamil and Ganjar Pranowo's uploads through Michel Foucault's critical media discourse approach. The data collection technique uses textual observation techniques through the Instagram pages of the two figures. The results show that in the post-commodification perspective of social media, Ridwan Kamil and Ganjar Pranowo's uploads have content and relations with power. The discourses of these two figures have a strong relationship with the practice of management either as themselves or as public officials. The research impacts the theoretical output of practical activities carried out by political figures so that it can be a reference in learning critical communication in social media. Another effect, this analysis can contribute ideas and knowledge in the context of new media discourse that can be used as a reference in communication and media studies.
This study aims to find answers and interpretations of the image symbols in the film Preman Pensiun edition of “Kembali ke Fitri”. Using an interpretive constructive paradigm, using Foucault's semiotic approach. Data collection comes from pieces of the film scene. The results show that although the film is not a propaganda film or a religious film and the retired thugs do not pretend to be a propaganda film, the strength of religion in human life makes the symbols of nature in the film very strong. The film depicts the figures of Muslihat and Ujang who want to maintain their household. As for the implications of this research, the first is academically theoretical. The symbolic aspect of religion is a message for mankind that cannot be denied. Practically, religious symbols become aspects of da'wah in the film.
Religious cultural artefacts such as the cap (peci), Koko shirt, turban, sarong, or the diction of ustadz and Islamic boarding schools are part of the power dynamics in the late 2021 and early 2022 abuse cases. This research aims to interpret the da'wah communication messages implied in religious cultural artefacts, as well as dismantle and restore the meaning of religious cultural symbols, in order to maintain and protect the degree of da'wah. A critical paradigm with a post semiotic (hyper semiotic) approach was used in the research. According to the findings of the study, the position of religious symbols in semiotics has noble values in the context of da'wah. However, it is an ideological tool for worshippers of desire to achieve their individual goals in the context of most semiotics. The artefact is shrouded in libido ideology. The authors' research bridges the problem of meaning, which is frequently generalised in everyday life, so that people can see clearly and wisely about this issue. Critical da'wah communication can help to develop this wisdom and policy.

This study analyzes the meaning of the local Bugis culture of South Sulawesi, which is unique, by using the theory of representation and semiotics. The research refers to the Sigajang Laleng Lipa culture. The type of research used is qualitative research, with the semiotic approach of Charles William Morris. Researchers observed relevant documents and found local cultural representations and Islamic meanings in each scene. The study results show that every sign of several scenes has a meaning that is difficult for ordinary people to understand. Some scenes in the film do not follow the teachings, but some have Islamic values. Appropriate values must be maintained, but inappropriate values can be reduced to appropriate ones. This research will likely impact maintaining the da'wah model with a local cultural approach, which is mediated by local cultural films.
