Supervision of academic performance is very important to ensure that students can complete their education on time. There have been many proposed applications of machine learning algorithms to predict students’ academic performance. Prediction is done by analyzing a dataset of historical academic of the student’s grade. The dataset which analyzed has many variables (features), this can increase complexity and decrease model performance because maybe not all features are relevant. We propose to implement the forward selection algorithm to select features that can improve model performance. The result shows that the performance of predictive models of students academic scores can improve with the application of feature selection.
Chromium commonly used as an anti-corrosive agent for electroplating. Clinical and laboratory evidence showed that inhaled chromium was very toxic. Talang, Tegal have several groups of metal coating workers. As an informal sector, they have no law enforcement and also health services. The workplaces have poor hygiene sanitation, poor workplace arrangement and they tend to ignore the usage of personal protective equipment. This research aimed to analyze the work capacity and chromium exposure on lung function capacity in metal coating workers. The study population was all metal coating workers in the Talang sub-district. While the subject of this study was purposively taken, they were consists of 35 workers that in productive age workers and do active metal coatings work. The independent variables of this study were exposure to chromium and work capacity. Dependent variable was lung function capacity. The parameters observed to find out lung function with spirometry examination. The Chi-square test were used in this research. The results showed that the levels of chromium in urine in workers averaged 21.16 µg/L. There was no relationship between age, length of work, and levels of chromium in urine with lung function capacity. Nutritional status has a relationship with lung function capacity.
One of the alternatives to mitigate the limitations of agricultural land in urban areas in an effort to produce family food is the use of yard with verticulture method. However, the partners of this community service activity were housewives in Permata Griya RT Residence 03/RW 019; most of them have not utilized their home yard for any productive and economically valuable activities through plant cultivation. This is caused by the limited land and partners’ knowledge about plant cultivation techniques. This community service activity aims to provide training and practice of narrow land utilization with verticulture method, arranging plants vertically using used tins and plastic bottles.. The service activity was conducted through lecture, discussion, and demonstration approach. The result of the activity impacted on the participants’ knowledge and insight: all participants knew cultivation techniques and make the growing media of verticulture mainly by using used goods
Agricultural equipment and machinery have become the main farmer’s need as technically it can accelerate and improve the quality of soil cultivation, water supply, increase the cropping index, reduce lost yields and preserve the environmental functions. Economically, it can increase the added values through product processing, productivity, and resource efficiency. Institutional service business of agricultural equipment and machinery (UPJA) needs to develop to facilitate farmers’ access to the use of affordable agricultural equipment and machinery in order to increase the sustainable food production. The sustainability of the service business is influenced by many aspects including economic aspects. This study aimed to analyze financial feasibility of UPJA in Parit Keladi village, Sungai Kakap subdistrict, Kubu Raya Regency. Analysis of R/C ratio and B/C ratio was applied. Based on R/C ratio of feasibility analysis, all kinds of agricultural equipment and machinery including transplanter, water pump, rice thresher, mini combine harvester, and hand tractor provided by the service business were feasible, shown by R/C ratio> 1.52 and B/C ratio >0.52. Whereas, The R/C value of water pump of 2.5; hand tractor 2.0; 1.81 transplant machine and 1.67 mini combaine and 1.31 power thresher machine, respectively.
