To introduce this iconic craft to the world, there is a need for a synergy between the craft industry and tourism sector. Publication on art and culture so far has not displayed the elements of motif in details so that there is a tendency to ignore these Eastern designs. Data gathering at the early stage of the research shows that there are some promising potentials in tourism places located in Jepara shores that can be promoted using publication design incorporating carving motifs. The benefits of this study are: 1) it result in an iconic design to support tourism publication; 2) the result of this study can contribute to the revision of the coverage the Regent Regulation number 10 Year 2014 saying that the iconic forms should be used in government buildings can be widened to include tourism places too. Method used in this research is the glass box where design is should be measureable, systematic, and rational supported by local cultue approach. The collected data were analyzed using SMART guidance stands for Specific, Attainable, Relevant, and Timely.
Branding is introducing an image of both services and physical products, the process taken must have a strategy and preparation of measurable time targets. There are many ways to introduce a product, which is the current trend of the 4.0 era where most transactions and information are traded in the IoT-based world. Local tourism has now developed, by utilizing the potential of the surrounding nature and then being developed as the basis for the products offered, improvements are made in various sectors to support the display to boost publications, of course with a communication angle. The need for researchers to take steps to dissect the flow in building a publication concept in the form of a realistic road map with applied strategies and analysis combined with good publication management is the core of the research carried out. The design thinking method is applied to dissect what strategic steps will be used in determining the core of the publication with impact factors. Local tourism branding and publication strategies are influenced by engagement from the psychological model of one touch flayer of social media users related to the happynest side factor that affects the pattern of attractive content with a high response rate and saddnes side factor which is empathetic with a low response rate.
Wastra motif is a visual form that is contained in cloth media in its entirety and is formed from stylized plants, animals, and other natural objects. Wastra Cakra manggilingan is one of the Wastra in Jepara which has a message in it. Many people do not know the message contained in Wastra weaving in Troso Village. Visual Communication Design is the science of understanding a message in the form of visuals or images. However, to reveal the message contained in the Wastra Cakra manggilingan motif, the researcher uses a qualitative descriptive method with a semiotic theory approach belonging to Charles Morris. The visual form data of the Wastra Cakra manggilingan motif series were obtained based on oral interviews, and other bibliography. Then an analysis was carried out using semiotics which produced data in the form of a series of descriptive sentences. The results of the study resulted in the form of signs, meanings, and messages contained in the entire Wastra Cakra manggillingan motif. This wastra becomes authentic by using a stylized form that is adapted to the life of the Jepara people in general.
