Summary The aim of the research was to determine the effect of the health-oriented exercises included in the final part of the physical and sport education on the selected factors of the musculoskeletal system of the female students of the selected secondary school, as well as to point out the diversification and the realization of the innovative contents of the teaching lessons with the health aspect, especially from the point of view of the primary prevention of the female students’ health of secondary school, improving the level of the posture and the overall muscular system. The monitored group consisted of 33 female students of the selected secondary school in Trenčín (Slovakia). The experimental group (EG) A consisted of 17 female students (age = 16.9 ± 1.3 years, height = 168.6 ± 3.9 cm, weight = 57.3 ± 3.4 kg) and the control group (CG) B consisted of 16 female students (age = 16.3 ± 1.1 years, height = 167.3 ± 4.7 cm, weight = 58.9 ± 4.8 kg). From the point of view of the data acquisition methods, in initial, ongoing and final evaluations were applied standardized methods for assessing the posture and the muscular system for physical and medical practice. Subsequently, the applied health-oriented exercises were used in the final part of the physical and sport education for 3 months, 3 times per week, for the duration of 12 minutes. The results significantly showed the improvement of the monitored musculoskeletal system (p < 0.01), as well as the overall muscular system (p < 0.01). Based on the findings, we point out the suitability of including the health-oriented exercises in the teaching process of the physical and sport education with the focus on the musculoskeletal system. Bendikova, E., & Bartikklaus, P. (2015). Selected Determinants of Seniors´ Lifestyle. J. Hum. Sport Exerc., 10(3), pp.805-814. The article presents partial results which reflect seniors' lifestyle and which are focused on selected determinants (especially sports activities). These determinants are the key factors of the quality of seniors' life. The respondents of our research were the retirees from the town of Liptovsky Mikulás. We used a questionnaire to obtain the primary indicators of quality of life and lifestyle of seniors. Our findings significantly show that exercise and sports activities play an important role in terms of maintaining social contacts, health and independence, the values that are particularly specific for life of seniors from different points of view. A -study design, B -Data collection, C -Statistical analysis, D -Data Interpretation, E -manuscript Preparation, F -literature search, G -Funds collection Background. a satisfactory professional and social life of disabled and people with noncommunicable diseases depends on their life satisfaction (LS), which should be understood as a subjective assessment of their past and current life situation, as well as prospects for the future. Objectives. The aim of this study was to analyze the LS status using SWLS among healthy people, people with noncommunicable diseases and people with disabilities and compare SWLS scores within three evaluated groups. Material and methods. The study was conducted in 2015 and 2016 in Slovakia. It involved three population groups (n = 1144), which were recruited for the study: healthy people (HP; n = 313) people with noncommunicable diseases (PwNcDs; n = 351) and people with disabilities (PwDs; n = 480). The Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) study was used. Results. The overall SWLS score of the evaluated groups demonstrate that HP presented the highest LS (24.24), and PwDs the lowest LS (21.05). PwNcDs are significantly more satisfied with their life than PwDs (p < 0.01), and if PwNcDs could live their life over, they would change almost nothing (p < 0.05). The mean score of assessed LS statements pointed to a higher LS of PwNcDs, as they declared higher LS in all five statements, and the mean total score also showedg significantly higher LS in PwNcDs compared to PwDs (22.27 vs 21.05; p < 0.01). Conclusions. Social relationships through appropriate physical activities and an active social life are extremely important for people with NcDs and disabilities, as they contribute to reducing their levels of social exclusion and isolation, which can lead to episodes of depression, stress, loneliness and consequent deterioration of health conditions. Prevalencia funkčných porúch oporného a pohybového systému u školskej populácie sú predpokladom štrukturálnych zmien, ktoré sú v dospelosti mnohokrát aj dôvodom invalidizácie, o čom vypovedajú aj štatistiky zdravotných poisťovní na Slovensku. Preto včasná diagnostika a prevencia u detí a mládeže realizovaná cez cielené pohybové programy s kompenzačným účinkom sú jednou z možností, ako predísť uvedeným skutočnostiam v neskoršom veku. Štúdia prezentuje čiastkový cieľ a úlohy s intenciou vplyvu intervenčného pohybového programu na pohyblivosť chrbtice ako jedného z ukazovateľov funkčného stavu pohybového systému u žiačok štvrtých ročníkov stredných škôl v rámci vyučovacích hodín telesnej a športovej výchovy, s cieľom rozšíriť poznatky z oblasti účinku a významu pohybových programov s kompenzačným zameraním aj v obsahu telesnej a športovej výchovy. Nami zvolený experimentálny súbor tvorili žiačky štvrtého ročníka strednej školy mesta L. Mikuláš. Z hľadiska metód získavania údajov sme použili štandardizované metódy hodnotenia vybraných determinantov pohybového systému opierajúce sa o pedagogickú a medicínsku prax, kde získané kvalitatívne a kvantitatívne údaje hodnotenia dynamickej funkcie chrbtice sme spracovali parametrickým t-testom pre závislé pozorovanie a celkovú svalovú rovnováhu chí-kvadrát testom. Výsledky signifikantne (p < 0,01) preukázali vplyv nami zvoleného pohybového programu na sledovaný determinant pohybového systému v súbore žiačok, čím sme potvrdili účinnosť pohybového programu s kompenzačným zameraním na pohyblivosť chrbtice v sagitálnej a laterálnej rovine, ako aj na a celkovú svalovú rovnováhu a možnosti jeho využitia v obsahu vyučovania telesnej a športovej výchovy.
