O artigo apresenta o resultado da pesquisa documental sobre a produção do conhecimento referente ao tema: Serviço Social e Educação, destacando a inserção e trabalho de assistentes sociais na política de educação brasileira, a partir dos artigos publicados na Revista Serviço Social & Sociedade, deste a primeira edição (1979) até 2019, sedimentada na perspectiva critica. Identificamos que 22% dos artigos tratam sobre a inserção e o trabalho do assistente social na educação, considerando a significativa contribuição desta Revista, ao longo de 40 anos da sua existência, constata-se reduzida a reflexão sobre a temática em voga, pela categoria profissional.
The uneven expansion of educational offerings in Brazil over the 21 st centuryThis essay deals with the process of uneven expansion of educational offerings in Brazil over the last twenty years. A structural component of this expansion is the differentiation in the forms of access ensured by state legislation, which regulates an interdependence between the public and private character of the three governmental spheres that form the educational system. The relation between education and poverty no longer represents a discourse of strong ideological support and compliance, as happened in prior periods, since it does not match real parameters in the trajectory of a social policy that expands in different levels and modalities such as field of valorization and under the hegemony of financial capital.
