Background: Evidence of effectiveness of the Interprofessional Education (IPE) in improving collaboration practice, patient and family satisfaction, and patient outcomes had been widely published. Most of developed countries, including United Kingdom, have implemented IPE in their healthcare curriculum, whereas some developing countries are starting the IPE initiative program.Purpose: This study aims to examine the challenges in implementing IPE.Methods: Primary studies to be included in this systematic review were searched fromelectronic databases such as MEDLINE (OVID) 1996, CINAHL, and ERIC (EBSCO). Hand searching through journal of inter-professional care was also conducted. The included studies were critically appraised using JBI QARI appraisal tool. The findings of the included studies were extracted using JBI finding extraction form and appraised based on the JBI level of credibility. The analysis of the study was presented in narrative form.Results: This review produced five qualitative studies using focus groups and interview methods. A total of 5 out of 88 papers met the inclusion criteria included in this systematic review. Three synthesis findings of the challenges in implementing IPE and possible solutions were identified in the literature: inter-professional relationship, IPE curriculum, and administration and resources.Conclusions: The evidence of implementing IPE in developing countries is limited. However, the challenges in implementing IPE in developing countries remain similar with those faced by developed countries. This can be guidance for developing countries to plan, initiate and implement IPE. Future studies about implementation of IPE in developing countries are highly recommended.
Interprofessional education (IPE) telah dimulai di beberapa negara maju seperti Kanada, Inggris, Amerika, dan Australia sejak 53 tahun yang lalu. Penerapan IPE dalam kurikulum pendidikan kesehatan telah terbukti memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan keterampilan komunikasi dan teamwork dari tenaga kesehatan. Penelitian ini merupakan Literature review yang bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dampak dari penerapan pendidikan interprofesi di kurikulum pendidikan kesehatan dalam peningkatan kualitas pelayanan maternitas. Artikel yang direview didapatkan melalui pencarian di data base elektronik seperti MEDLINE (OVID) 1996, CINAHL, and ERIC (EBSCO) menggunakan kata kunci seperti interprofessional education, curriculum, midwifery, dan maternity care. Selain itu, pencarian secara manual di Journal of Interprofessional care juga dilakukan. Penelusuran artikel dibatasi hanya terbitan tahun 2009-2018. Dari penelusuran tersebut, didapatkan bahwa penerapan pendidikan interprofesi dalam kurikulum Pendidikan kesehatan dapat meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi dan bekerja sama dalam tim yang merupakan kompetensi utama dalam praktik kolaborasi antar profesi kesehatan. Keterampilan ini sangat mendukung peningkatan pelayanan maternitas. Ego profesi, perbedaan budaya profesi, penjadwalan, sumberdaya pengajar, dan persepsi tentang IPE ditemukan sebagai hambatan dalam penerapan IPE. Dukungan dari institusi, kepemimpinan, dan lingkungan Pendidikan yang kondusif merupakan faktor pendukung terlaksananya IPE di institusi Pendidikan. Metode pembelajaran IPE yang dapat diterapkan dalam kurikulum kebidanan diantaranya: OSCE, diskusi studi kasus, praktik komunitas dan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler.
Nutrition for pregnant women is one of the most essential factors that influence the outcomes of maternal and infant. Pregnant women can gain nutrition information from many sources including consultation to health professionals. However, some studies showed that mother received lack of nutrition information during pregnancy and the evidence regarding the nutrition advice for pregnant women is limited. A literature review was conducted to identify the nutrition information received by mothers during antenatal period. This review included qualitative and quantitative studies which concern in the nutrition advice during pregnancy and the strategy used by health practitioners to provide information about pregnancy nutrition in the antenatal care. The included studies were searched from electronic databases such as Medline, CINAHL, Cochrane Library, ProQuest Central and PubMed Central, and also from Google scholar. This review produced seven studies included qualitative and quantitative research. Generally, women were not receiving adequate nutrition education during pregnancy. Health practitioners in the developing countries use counselling during antenatal care to provide information about nutrition for pregnant women, while in the developed countries, health professionals prefer to use online and social media. The evidence of healthcare professionals in providing nutrition information for pregnant women is limited. Nutrition counselling and online media were identified as effective tools in promoting a healthy diet and supplementation for pregnant women within some population groups. Further studies about health practitioners’ strategies in providing nutrition education during antenatal care are highly recommended.
<p><strong>Abstract: </strong>The study was conducted to produce a guided inquiry learning model on ecosystem material and environment pollution aided by handout based on the local potential of mangrove forest Pantai Duta to improve critical thinking skills and environmental awareness. The type of research is development research with reference to the ADDIE development model. The research sample of 64 students of 7<sup>th </sup>class SMPN 2 Paiton. Research data collection using validation sheets, questions about critical thinking skills, and questionnaires. The result of the study state that the guided inquiry learning tool is valid and practical, and can improve critical thinking skills and environmental care attitudes.</p><strong>Abstrak: </strong>Penelitian dilakukan untuk menghasillkan perangkat pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing materi ekosistem dan pencemaran lingkungan berbantuan <em>handout</em> berbasis potensi lokal hutan mangrove Pantai Duta untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan sikap peduli lingkungan. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan mengacu pada model pengembangan ADDIE. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 64 siswa kelas VII SMPN 2 Paiton. Pengumpulan data penelitian menggunakan lembar validasi, soal kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan angket. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing valid dan praktis, serta dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan sikap peduli lingkungan.
