One reason of the high unemployment is the lack of career planning. The individu needs career maturity and views about the future (future time perspective) so that she/he can choose the right job. This research aimed to determine the influence of future time perspective toward career maturity in college student. This study used a quantitative approach. Sample in this study are 156 of college students in Jabodetabek.The measurement tools is Carstensen and Lang Future Time Perspective scale (CL-FTP) and Career Maturity Inventory form C (IMC form C). The result shos that future time perspective affecting positively to career maturity in college student significantly (R2= 0.139; p = 0.000). Simple linear regression analysis stated that future time perspective contributed 13,9% to the career maturity and 86,1% influenced by other factors.
ABSTRAKSalah satu konsep yang muncul dalam psikologi kesehatan kerja (occupational health psychology) saat ini adalah work engagement. Penelitian ini menyelidiki work engagement di antara generasi Y dan korelasinya dengan perhatian. Work engagement adalah positif, memuaskan, pekerjaan yang terkait dengan kondisi pikiran yang ditandai dengan semangat, dedikasi, dan penyerapan. Mindfulness adalah kesadaran saat sekarang dengan sikap mengamati dan tidak menghakimi. Ini adalah studi pertama yang menguji korelasi antara mindfulness dan work engagement di antara generasi Y, khususnya di Indonesia. Partisipan penelitian ini adalah 251 pria dan wanita generasi Y yang bekerja di beberapa kota di seluruh Indonesia. Mereka berusia 18 hingga 36 tahun dan memiliki latar belakang pendidikan yang bervariasi serta masa kerja. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan dua skala, yaitu Utrecht Work Engagement Scale dan Mindful Attention Awareness Scale. Analisis regresi melaporkan bahwa mindfulness berkontribusi 2 persen untuk Work Engangement. Mindfulness ditemukan berhubungan positif dengan work engagement (r = .142). Implikasi teoretis dan praktis dibahas. ABSTRACTOne of the emerging concepts in occupational health psychology today is work engagement. Work engagement is positive, fulfilling, work-related state of mind that is characterized by vigor, dedication, and absorption. Mindfulness is present moment awareness with an observing and nonjudging stance. This is the first study to examine the correlation between mindfulness and work engagement among generation Y, specifically in Indonesia. Participants of this study were 251 male and female generation Y working in some cities across Indonesia. They were 18 to 36 years old and they were varied in educational background as well as in job tenures. Data was gathered using two scales, namely Utrecht Work Engagement Scale and Mindful Attention Awareness Scale. Regression analysis reported that mindfulness contributes 2 percent to work engagement. Mindfulness is found to relate positively with work engagement (r= .142). Theoretical and practical implications are discussed.
This study aims to see the current picture of recruitment in Indonesia. The Keywords: Recruitment in Indonesia, human resources, recruitment challenge AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan melihat gambaran terkini tentang rekrutmen di Indonesia. Penelitian menggunakan metode survey yang kemudian dianalisa secara tematik. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 46 orang partisipan yang bekerja di bidang rekrutmen dengan pangkat dan senioritas yang bervariasi. Temuan-temuan utama terkait proses rekrutmen disimpulkan berdasarkan jawaban-jawaban partisipan. Pertama, mayoritas responden berpendapat bahwa rekrutmen saat ini sangat menantang mengingat di satu sisi adanya kandidat yang kurang berkualitas atau bahkan di sisi lain perusahaan memang memiliki tuntutan cukup tinggi. Kedua, mengingat permasalahan anggaran, perusahaan harus menyesuaikan strategi rekrutmen mereka dengan kondisi internalnya. Terakhir, rekruter harus memiliki kemampuan-kemampuan tertentu seperti berorientasi pada target, menjalin jaringan, negosiasi, dan berpikir analitik. Hasil penelitian deskriptif ini dapat digunakan sebagai dasar bagi penelitian selanjutnya dan juga dapat direkomendasikan pada sejumlah forum sumber daya manusia. Penelitian ini terbatas pada responden dari perusahaan swasta, peneliti selanjutnya disarankan untuk menambah jumlah sampel yang representatif serta menyusun instrumen yang lebih spesifik.Kata Kunci: Rekrutmen di Indonesia, sumber daya manusia, tantangan rekrutmen
This research investigates Islamic bank employees’ work engagement and its correlation to patience. Work engagement is fulfilling and positive state of mind that is characterized by vigor, dedication, and absorption. Patience is a coping strategy which involves rational thinking, self-acceptance, self-control, and effort. By using accidental sampling, final participants were 169 employees working in Islamic bank who were varied in age, job position, employment status, tenure, educational background, and work location. Data was gathered by using two measures: The Utrecht Work Engagement Scale and Patience scale and it were analyzed using Pearson correlation. Patience is found to relate positively with work engagement (r = .603). Islamic bank management may conduct training about patience to enhance their employees’ engagement.
This study aims to find effect from organizational climate to burnout in hospital nurses in Lebak during the COVID-19. Nurses who worked during the COVID-19 were at the forefront of cutting infected tissues and this resulted in quite high suffering. The main fatigue is emotional or better known as burnout. One of the causes of burnout is organizational climate. A high organizational climate can produce a positive work environment so that nurses don’t feel a threat at work. Respondents in this study were nurses who worked at the hospital in Lebak as many as 177 respondents who were selected through purposive sampling technique. The measuring instruments used in this research were CLIOR Scale Short Version and Maslach Burnout Inventory. The results of the calculation of the regression analysis technique show that the significance value is 0.283 (p> 0.05). Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah CLIOR Scale Short Version dan Maslach Burnout Inventory. Hasil perhitungan teknik analisis regresi menunjukkan bahwa nilai signifikansi sebesar 0.283 (p > 0.05). Hal tersebut berarti tidak terdapat pengaruh iklim organisasi terhadap burnout pada perawat rumah sakit di Lebak dalam masa COVID-19.Kata kunci : Iklim Organisasi, Burnout, Perawat, COVID-19
