AbstrakSecara umum penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui terdapat atau tidaknya hubungan antara self-confidence siswa dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survey dengan teknik korelasi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP Negeri di Kota Bandung. Sedangkan sampel penelitiannya sebanyak 35 orang yang ditetapkan secara purposif pada salah satu SMP Negeri di Kota Bandung. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini berupa instrumen tes dan nontes, adapun instrumen tes sebanyak 6 soal untuk menganalisa kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik siswa sedangkan instrumen nontes sebanyak 25 skala pernyataan yang digunakan untuk menganalisa self confidence siswa dalam pembelajaran matematik. Kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian ini adalah secara signifikan Self-confidence siswa tentang matematika dalam pembelajaran mempengaruhi kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik siswa. AbstractIn general, the purpose of this research is to find out whether there is relationship between students’ self-confidence and students’ mathematic problem solving skill. The method of this research is survey method with corellation technique. The population of this research is students of a state junior high school in Bandung. While, the sample of this research is 35 students which is decided by purposif sampling in a state junior high school in Bandung. The instrument in this research is test and non-test instrument, in which test instrument consists of six questions to analyze students’ mathematic problem solving skill, while non-test instrument consists of twenty five scale statement which is used to analyze students’ self-confidence in mathematic learning. Conclusion of the result of this research is significantly , students’self-confidence in mathematic learning influence students’ mathematic problem solving.
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menelaah apakah peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi dan koneksi matematis mahasiswa calon guru yang belajar menggunakan pendekatan konstruktivisme dengan model pembelajaran generatif lebih baik dibandingkan dengan mahasiswa yang belajar dengan pembelajaran biasa, serta untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan antara kemampuan komunikasi dan koneksi matematis dengan self efficacy mahasiswa calon guru. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode campuran antara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa calon guru di Kota Cimahi dan sampelnya adalah mahasiswa calon guru tingkat dua di STKIP Siliwangi Cimahi. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berbentuk tes uraian koneksi dan komunikasi matematis, serta angket self-efficacy. Berdasarkan analisis data didapatkan kesimpulan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi dan koneksi matematis mahasiswa calon guru yang belajar menggunakan pendekatan konstruktivisme dengan model pembelajaran generatif lebih baik dibandingkan dengan mahasiswa yang belajar dengan pembelajaran biasa, serta tidak terdapat hubungan antara kemampuan komunikasi dan koneksi matematis mahasiswa calon guru dengan self-efficacy mahasiswa calon guru.
This research is conducted as a preliminary study that aims to determine the achievement and improvement of advanced mathematical thinking skills of students. In college, mathematics is generally more difficult and complex than ever. This is because the material given is more abstract. Therefore, mathematics and mathematics education students are expected to construct mathematical definitions/concepts independently, to prove logically, and to further develop their mathematical abilities. In fact, the learning process in the classroom does not improve the ability of mathematical thinking and even tends not to awaken the habits of the mind of the student, hence to overcome the problem, this research is studied a learning approach, the metacognitive skill approach. This research is an experimental research with research instrument that used is test of advanced mathematical thinking ability of student and student habits of mind scale. This research was conducted on final year students who contracted real analysis courses at STKIP Siliwangi Bandung. Based on the results of the research, it is known that the achievement and improvement of advanced mathematical thinking skills of students who gain learning with metacognitive skills approach is better than those who get regular learning. In general, students who gain learning with a metacognitive skills approach habits of mind better on ordinary learning..Keywords: Advanced Mathematical Thinking, Habits of Mind, Metacognitive Skill Approach.
Learning media in Mathematics by using Microsoft Excel software that assisted Visual Basic application is a tool that can be applied for a more interactive visualization so that students better understand about mathematical concepts. Microsoft Excel is a software that serves to process data in the form of numbers that are always associated with mathematical commands. In addition, the functions of commands in Microsoft Excel can be applied in various fields such as Statistics, Economics and Finance, Mathematical Logic, and Engineering. If using mathematical concepts with data processing. But it is not just a number, it can also be used to process objects on shapes or drawings on images. This, of course, requires a function other than the mathematical functions of Visual Basic Applications, which can make math tools more interesting. The advantages of Microsoft Excel with Visual Basic for Application (VBA) are (1) the images are more interactive with different sizes and can make more; (2) more economical; (3)saving time; (4)the software is easy to find, and (5)improving students 'understanding of mathematical concepts and foster students' sense of trust, especially in junior high school students.
Functional analysis has been of interest and the thinking of students should be prepared. Analyzing the process of conceptualizing geometric function problem solving based on the dimensions of cognitive processes and knowledge was the purpose of this study. The subjects of this study were three students selected purposively from one of the secondary schools in Indonesia. Exploration of these studies with constant comparative techniques. The results of the data analysis show that the cognitive processes that operate and the knowledge applied by students focus on the conceptualization of algebraic representations. Based on the conceptualization process, students' conceptual systems are still fragmented because of the problem of the relationship between the concept and the basis of its relationship. As a result, procedural knowledge is more dominant.
