ABSTRAKIndonesia dan Malaysia adalah negara yang sama-sama menghadapi dilema multikultur. Sebagai negara bangsa yang dibangun atas keberagaman, dua negara ini menjadi bangsa multikultural. Dampaknya, berbagai konflik karena perbedaan -etnis, agama, ras, adat, bahasa dan sebagainya-yang tidak dikelola dengan baik tidak terhindarkan di kedua negara. Gesekan karena perbedaaan telah menjadi pemicu munculnya konflik karena satu sama lain tidak saling memahami dan menghormati. Ketiadaan saling mamahami dan menghormati kerap muncul karena faham antroposentris yang disebabkan oleh minimnya pengenalan terhadap kebudayaan di luar kebudayaan sendiri. Oleh karenanya, pengenalan kebudayaan di luar kebudayaan sendiri sangat penting dilakukan sejak dini kepada pemangku kebudayaan melalui proses pendidikan, baik formal maupun infomal. Proses ini kemudian dikenal dengan pendidikan multikulturalisme. Banyak studi yang membahas tentang pendidikan multikultural, namun belum banyak studi yang membahas tentang penanaman nilai-nilai multikulturalisme melalui pendidikan. Artikel ini ditulis melalui penelitian normatifmelalui penelusuran literatur seperti buku, jurnal, makalah, artikel dan berita media. Dalam artikel ini ditawarkan penanaman nilai-nilai multikulturalisme melalui pendidikan formal seperti sekolah-sekolah dan madrasah-madrasah dan pendidikan informal melalui lembaga-lembaga yang ada dalam masyarakat.Kata Kunci :Pendidikan, Keberagaman, Multikulturalisme, Pendidikan Multikulturalisme. PENGENALANArtikel ini mengkaji tentang penanaman nilai-nilai multikulturalisme melalui pendidikan formal dan informal. Dalam ASEAN Comparative Education Research Network Conference 2015ini, artikel masuk dalam tema pendidikan untuk kelestarian etnik dan budaya. Oleh karenanya, uraian dan kajian dalam artikel ini memperbincangkan tentang peran yang bisa diambil pendidikan untuk kelestarian etnik dan budaya yang ada pada masyarakat multikultur. Lebih spesifik, artikel ini mendiskusikan penanaman nilai-nilai multikulturalisme sebagai sebuah faham, ideologi dan nilai melalui pendidikan.
The aim of this study is to explore the potential extending of floating net cage (known as karamba in local term) benefits as tourism attractions. By extending the benefit of karamba as a tourism attraction, the impact of aquaqulture to lake ecology and quality of water can be reduced. In the last decade, tourism has evolved into sustainable tourism activity by making nature and culture as primary object. Therefore, tourism is also trusted can be overcome the ecological problems of Maninjau lake that caused by karamba aquaqulture. The research was conducted in nagari around the Maninjau lake area during 2016-2017. Data wer collected through semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions. The results indicate that karamba has the potential to be developed as a tourism activity through the participation of karamba practitioners as tourism operators. However, the type of participation cannot be entirely spontaneous type, but induced participation type is also needed to develop the karamba tourism. Several strategies and challenges in developing karamba tourism are identified.
<span lang="EN-US">Discussion related to nationalism has become an essential topic in the field of Indonesian education, particularly in the context of education in the border area. This study reported on the condition of educational services, and explored the meaning and experience of nationalism from Indonesian migrant workers' (IMW's) children at the community learning center (CLC) Sarawak, Indonesia-Malaysia border area. The study employed qualitative methods with a phenomenological approach, intended to produce in-depth data on the meaning and experience of nationalism from IMW's children attending CLC Sarawak, Malaysia. The data collected in this study used the main data through exhaustive interviews and observation, while additional data was collected through documentation. The results showed that CLC has made the optimal efforts in growing IMW's children nationalism in border areas, included: i) Implementing educational curriculum in accordance with curriculum standards in Indonesia; ii) Implement programs that can increase IMW's children nationalism; and iii) Improve access and quality education services for IMW's children in border areas. Furthermore, IMW's children interpret nationalism as a feeling of love, pride, and willingness to sacrifice for the nation and country with all their heart. The meaning of nationalism is constructed through various children’s experiences obtained in the school environment, family environment, and socio-cultural conditions in the community. The results and discussions reported in this study can serve as a reference and guideline for the Indonesian government to formulate and prioritize educational designs or policies for Indonesian migrant workers in border areas.</span>
Tourism development could improve people's lives, because of growth in employment, due to the opportunities new ventures. Government Sawahlunto is one area that also develop tourism for the economic growth of tourism is one of the locations Unique Park Waterboom. The purpose of this study was to describe how social and economic impacts once established waterboom Village Muaro Kalaban Silungkang District of Sawahlunto. This study used a qualitative approach and descriptive type. Data collected by observation, interview and document analysis. In-depth interviews were conducted at several informants community representatives and community leaders such as village chief Muaro Kalaban, Head of Dusun Sawah tabang, traders around. The results showed that after the establishment of The Unique Park Waterboom Muaro Kalaban social and economic impacts. Its social effects are positive impacts and negative impacts. The negative impact is imitate how to dress, way of thinking and swim behavior, religious values of society. While the positive impact that increased education and relations of good interaction. The economic impact that arises is to create jobs for the people, rising incomes, the community initiative to build shophouses, increasing public facilities and infrastructure such as roads.Pembangunan pariwisata daerah bisa meningkatkan taraf kehidupan masyarakat, karena pertumbuhan lapangan pekerjaan akibat adanya peluang usaha baru. Pemerintah Kota Sawahlunto merupakan salah satu daerah yang juga mengembangkan pariwisata untuk pertumbuhan ekonomi salah satu lokasi wisatanya adalah The Unique Park Waterboom. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana dampak sosial ekonomi setelah adanya objek wisata waterboom di Desa Muaro Kalaban Kecamatan Silungkang Kota Sawahlunto. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan tipe deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan dengan observasi, wawancara mendalam dan studi dokumen. Wawancara mendalam dilakukan pada beberapa informan yaitu perwakilan masyarakat dan tokoh –tokoh masyarakat seperti Kepala Desa Muaro Kalaban, Kepala Dusun Sawah Tabang, pedagang yang di sekitar objek wisata. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa setelah berdirinya objek wisata The Unique Park Waterboom Muaro Kalaban menimbulkan dampak sosial dan ekonomi. Dampak sosial yang ditimbulkan terbagi atas dua yaitu dampak positif dan dampak negatif. Dampak negatif yaitu meniru cara berpakaian dan prilaku berenang, nilai keagamaan masyarakat mulai luntur. Sedangkan dampak positif yaitu meningkatnya pendidikan dan terjalinnya hubungan interaksi yang baik. Dampak ekonomi yaitu terciptanya lapangan pekerjaan, meningkatnya pendapatan masyarakat, adanya inisiatif masyarakat untuk membangun ruko-ruko, dan meningkatnya sarana-prasarana umum.
