Efficient administration of educational institutions is vital for their advancement and growth. Principals play a key role in providing conducive environment for instruction and students’ academic achievement. This study aims to examine the viewpoints of college principals and faculty members regarding the challenges faced in administration and their performance as college principal. A quantitative approach was used to investigate this research problem, employing a descriptive survey design to gather and analyse data. The research study focused on principals and faculty members from government degree and postgraduate colleges for boys and girls in the Malakand Division, Pakistan. A sample of 140 faculty members and 28 principals was selected by using stratified random sampling technique. Data from the participants were collected by using a self-developed questionnaire, which was validated by a panel of experts and its reliability was found through Cronbach’s alpha values which were found for administrative problems and job performance as 0.732 and 0.856 respectively. The study results showed that college principals faced various administrative problem included problems related to teaching and learning process, lack of availability of resources, maintaining good relationship with community, lack of financial resources, lack of capacity building programmes, and political interference. These administrative problems in turn effect lack of exhibiting instructional leadership, evaluating teachers and students’ performance, maintaining conducive working environment, preparing and utilizing budget, and implementing policies. Capacity building and continuous professional development programmes may be worthwhile strategies for improving the administrative, managerial and leadership roles of college principals.
This research study was carried out to investigate the facts and establish the present state of the link between Industry and university in Pakistan especially focusing on the present scenario and current operating systems, the research study further examined the main elements impacting and manipulating on the association and potential zones of participation and collaboration. An example of 33 (male 23 and female 10) comprised of Deans and Heads of branches of the colleges and agents of Higher Education Commission). The study revealed that universities and industries had associations and connections through contact workplaces established in (HEC) Higher Education Commission. This office has so many functions like research and development (Research and Development) activities, preparing and manage visiting lectureship, training the staff, and also plan joint actions for educational planning, improvement, and as well as both can work to guide each other. Most definitely, the study further revealed that although there is mutual coordination is found at the national level but unfortunately internationally the same coordination is not found in the same spirit in Pakistan amongst commerce and universities. Moreover, this study also revealed that the coordination among these agencies plays so many functions like personal contacts, guidance function, meetings with each other, educational synergistic preparing programs, Research & Development activities, boards of trustees, panels, courses, and meetings. Thus, the linkages were influenced by numerous components which included government strategy, the executives of the college just as the industry. It was additionally discovered that there were certainly a few issues these included, absence of coordination, scarcity of funds to perform research, lack of enthusiasm on the part of employees, absence of research and development exercises, absence of required capability, conflicting venture of businesses. In addition, there was a scarcity of incubation Center, advance parks, and no basic assessment and check and balance framework. These feasible domains of cooperation covered assurance of licensed innovation, awards, gifts, donations, grants, classes/workshops, and vocation directing cooperative research and development projects, and guidance administrations.
This study examines the COVID-19 awareness and preparedness of faculty and students at Kohat University of Science and Technology. This study aims to assess knowledge levels, adherence to preventive measures, and preparedness for potential outbreaks among students and teachers. The research was carried out at Kohat University of Science and Technology (KUST) with a sample size of 200, comprising 100 teachers and 100 students. Data were obtained via a self-designed questionnaire. The study indicates that teachers possess greater knowledge and readiness than students in areas such as symptom recognition, hygiene habits, university policies, and virtual education. Gender-based statistical analysis reveals significant differences, with males exhibiting higher mean scores. The study suggests recommendations to enhance knowledge dissemination, preparedness, and safety measures in KUST based on the obtained results.
The study assesses the effect of leadership management and resource management practices on teacher’s job satisfaction. This study focused on the core activities of the leadership management and resource management and the characteristic which had a direct relation with the quality of the education and satisfying teachers of the university. Using multistage random sampling method, the sample data of 985 teachers was collected from public and private sector higher education institutions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The researcher has designed the close end questionnaire for data collection. Statistical tool was applied to analyses the data. The descriptive statistics of the study revealed that leadership management and resource management was found to be satisfied among all components. The Pearson correlation revealed that leadership management and resource management have significant relation with faculty satisfaction in HEI.
