Understanding and predicting the relationship between big data analytics (BDA) and knowledge management (KM) and how they complement each other is still an ambiguous and strategically crucial issue. This study aims to investigate the interrelationships between BDA and KM in fostering green innovation practices (GIP) and organizational performance and, in addition, to explore the mediation effect of KM and how it can boost the impact of BDA on GIP. Based upon the underpinning theories that cover the study’s research model, several hypotheses were proposed and then examined. Using a cross-sectional research design, 174 questionnaires were collected from medium and large Algerian manufacturing firms. The study applied smart PLS-SEM for data analysis. The sorted results show that BDA positively impacts KM and GIP. The results also indicate that GIP positively influences and increases firm performance. In addition, the findings reveal that government support plays a significant part in leveling up firms’ GIP. Furthermore, the study emphasizes the critical impact of KM to polish the impact of BDA on GIP. This study highlights the necessity of improving the technological and managerial aspects of BDA by determining valuable capabilities, such as KM processes, to enhance organizational performance. Tracking business opportunities and predicting their relevant threats has become a severe concern to knowledge-extensive firms. Therefore, BDA can enable managers to absorb a large amount of data to increase the efficiency of a business decision to ensure survival and advancement. The study discusses both practical and theoretical implications.
Research studies have investigated online repatronage intentions among international and local tourists to Malaysia on Shariah-compliant hotels (SCHs) and e-B&Bs. Malaysia’s Islamic hospitality development sector has encouraged hotel managers to observe the Islamic hotel concept according to Muslim travellers’ needs and demands. Malaysia introduced the "Muslim-Friendly Hotel Recognition, which recognises Shariah-compliant accommodation for tourists. This type of recognition could be able to empower the tourism industry. A total of 10% out of 5,520 hotels comply with Shariah requirements, indicating that the new contribution of the SCH is needed. As of now, a comprehensive standard does not exist. The purpose of this research is to provide awareness among Muslim customers in Malaysia regarding SCHs’ online repatronage intentions. The number of hotels and e-B&Bs with full Shariah compliance is still small even though the number of Shariah-friendly hotels in Malaysia has increased with 744 halal certifications issued to hotels and resorts. The hotel management should adopt Islamic teachings even with the themes, ambiances, and architecture. With this, travellers would feel comfortable to perform their religious obligations. This research aims to identify online repatronage intentions of Muslims tourists to the Shariah compliant e-lodging industry in Malaysia. Most Malaysians are unaware of the SCH's implementation. From this study, they will become aware that the SCH not only accepts Muslim customers but also openly welcomes non-Muslim customers. A self-administered online survey was conducted to attain responses. Five hundred data were cleaned from any missing case and outliers, and 395 data were used for the next analysis. The sampling technique involved data collection both from local and international tourists who intended to stay at their preferred SCHs. Analysis of the measurement model was conducted with the structural model using the bootstrapping method via SmartPLS version 3.2.9. It was found that Hotel Image and Shariah compliance attributes were significant towards online repatronage intentions among Muslim customers of the SCH.
The aim of this paper is to establish and delineate a relationship between innovation strategy and strategic planning toward firm performance based on both theories resource-based view and diffusion innovation theory. Successful firms are always aware to effectively implement these strategies as a powerful resource, in order to ensure its survival among current and potential rivals. Therefore, this paper review previous studies and find a critical gap in the literature, since very few studies that investigate the two variables as a strategic resource in single research hence, this paper will fill the emerged gap and provide several implications for policymakers and related stakeholders.
The consumption of unhealthy food has been linked to the risk of many diseases such as non-communicable diseases and obesity. Thus, this study aimed to examine the effects of product, promotion on the consumption patterns of healthy food and healthy lifestyle as well as to examine the mediating effects of healthy lifestyle between the specified linkages. Research design used a quantitative approach where the questionnaire was formulated for primary data collection. The variables were measured using 23 items sourced from past studies. All the items were assessed using the five-point Likert Scale. 500 questionnaires were distributed to academicians from four Universities (UUM, UniMap, UPSI, USM) by using the random sampling technique. 357 responses were returned, representing a 71.4% response rate. The analysis method used the partial least square (PLS 3) regression and descriptive methods. The findings indicate that consumer healthy lifestyle, promotion are significant predictors of consumption patterns. Meanwhile product shows no significant relationship with consumption patterns. The results of the mediation effects of a healthy lifestyle show that healthy lifestyle is a significant mediator between product, and promotion with consumption patterns. As Malaysian consumers exhibit serious concern towards healthy food consumption patterns, it is recommended that the managers focus their strategies on promotion, and product more significance on healthy lifestyle in their healthy food consumption patterns. The study discusses the implications to various stakeholders, its limitation, and recommendations for future studies.
Public Universities in Malaysia offer many programs to their students and use e-learning or VLE as their platform, mostly enrolling distance learning students. The study explores the relationship between the influence of Diversity in the methods of presentation and classroom environment on virtual learning. This study is a quantitative type of research that seeks to explain relationships among variables. The study will use statistical analysis such as PLS-SEM. This study looks at variables at a specific point in the data collection process. The findings of these studies indicated that the communication environment towards the virtual learning environment has a significant positive relationship. However, Diversity in presentation methods in the virtual learning environment is insignificant. This study provides insights into the virtual learning environment, particularly in the Malaysian context, discusses implications for Diversity in the presentation and classroom environment methods, and offers recommendations for future research.
