Advancement of Information and communication technology (ICT) rapidly transform many sectors and it does give and impact also to the educational field. Ministry of Education Malaysia starts to plan the curriculum to include ICT and teacher starts exploring different method and teaching style to develop students higher order thinking skills. Teacher plays an important role in designing lesson to integrate ICT as it will give effect to students’ attitude in learning. The purpose of this study is to determine the effects of ICT towards students’ attitude. The methodology of study utilized a systematic document analysis technique where issues related to effect ICT towards student attitude which have given impact to the teachers’ and students’ behavior in the form of any reference are analyzed. SAMR model will show that there is different level of degree of ICT integration that teacher can use and implement in class. Results shows that when ICT is use in class it will give an advantage in terms of student performances, motivation and efficiency. The student and classroom environment itself will be dynamic, active listening, collaborative learning, interactivity and communication will take place. Maximizing ICT potential can create and enhance learning to take place more effectively and transforming from teacher-centered to student-centered learning which are in line with the 21st century goals.
Dewasa ini, kita dapat melihat bahawa cinta kemanusiaan dalam diri manusia semakin terhakis. Peningkatan kadar peperangan, pertumpahan darah dan jenayah di seluruh dunia seperti peperangan di Palestin dan Syria yang mengorbankan ribuan nyawa manusia yang tidak berdosa memjelaskan penularan fenomena ini. Manusia seolah-olah telah tidak mempunyai rasa belas kasihan terhadap mangsa yang terbunuh. Justeru, indikator cinta kemanusiaan dilihat sebagai salah satu alternatif solusi untuk membendung fenomena ini daripada terus berlarutan. Hasil kajian konseptual ini telah mengenal pasti beberapa indikator cinta kemanusiaan; iaitu keinginan untuk membantu (prosocial/altruisme), filantrofi, prihatin, cinta kebaikan, kesederhanaan (wasatiyah), mematuhi undang-undang, empati, nilai jati diri, tanggungjawab sosial, keagamaan, belas kasihan dan toleransi. Pihak yang berkenaan boleh menjadikan indikator cinta kemanusiaan ini sebagai nilai yang perlu dididik dan diterapkan dalam diri individu supaya bagi meningkatkan rasa cinta kemanusiaan dalam diri sekaligus mengelak daripada terlibat dengan sebarang siri kekejaman, seterusnya melahirkan generasi penyayang dan harmoni. Kajian ini mencadangkan agar indikator Cinta Kemanusiaan yang telah dikenalpasti ini dapat diterapkan melalui Kursus Tamadun Islam dan Tamadun Asia memandangkan kepentingan kursus ini kepada pelajar-pelajar Insitusi Pengajian Tinggi di Malaysia. Kehidupan dalam era terkini terdedah dengan persekitaran yang mementingkan aspek yang bersifat materialistik dan individualistik. Setiap individu berpotensi untuk mengabaikan segala apa yang berlaku disekitarnya— hatta ketika terdapat individu lain yang sangat memerlukan bantuan. Hal ini demikian kerana wujudnya sifat mementingkan diri sendiri. Kesibukan menguruskan dan memenuhi keperluan peribadi menjadi keutamaan, maka, menghulurkan bantuan di saat orang lain terdesak memerlukan pertolongan menjadi pilihan kedua. Mereka beranggapan bahawa menghulurkan bantuan kepada orang lain tidak memberi manfaat atau ganjaran. Terdapat pelbagai insiatif yang telah dilakukan oleh para aktivis sosial bagi menyedarkan masyarakat tentang kepentingan keterlibatan dalam melaksanakan tingkah laku prososial seperti membantu orang lain tanpa mengharap balasan. Oleh yang demikian, kertas ini bertujuan untuk membincangkan faktor yang mempengaruhi tingkah laku prososial berdasarkan kajian-kajian sedia ada dan mensintesiskannya daripada sudut pandangan Islam. Secara keseluruhannya, kajian ini mendapati bahawa terdapat pelbagai faktor yang mempengaruhi tingkah laku prososial iaitu faktor rasa berterima kasih, religiositi dan intensiti menonton rancangan realiti (reality show). Implikasi kajian ini adalah untuk mewujudkan satu usaha bagi menerapkan cinta kemanusiaan dalam kalangan ummah. Kata kunci: Ketamadunan; Tingkah laku prososial; Cinta kemanusiaan; Malaysia.
In Malaysia, the teachers are struggling to teach diverse learners in large classrooms. Since the Ministry has called upon the abolishment of streaming practices, both high-achieving and low-achieving students are now being grouped together. Therefore, the teachers have to equip themselves with a latest and effective teaching and learning method to address students’ differences and needs. They have to be able to identify, acknowledge and tailor their lessons to make sure no one is left behind, and every student have the opportunity to learn at their best. Differentiated learning method (DLM) has been recognized globally for its ability to accommodate diverse learners. However, this concept is still new in Malaysia and the implementation is limited to the gifted students. This paper will discuss the concept of differentiated learning method in detail and the application of DLM in Malaysia context.
