This study aims to: (1) test the validity of the smart exploding box based on deep dialogue critical thinking and its tools (syllabus and learning implementation plan, PKn textbook based on deep dialogue critical thinking, and learning achievement test); (2) Measuring the level of student activity through the use of the media; (3) Measuring students' critical thinking skills after the use of the media, and (4) measuring the response of students' interests after the use of the media. The research method carried out using the Plomp development model (in Khabibah, 2006) consisting of: (1) Initial investigations, (2) Design, (3) Realization / construction, (4) Testing, Evaluation, and Revision, (5) Implementation . From the results and discussion in the section above, it was concluded that, the media and learning tools developed in this study were included in the valid category, where the results of the validity of media experts got a score of 25 (good) and material experts got a score of 24 (good). Based on the results of trials at the 1st and 2nd learning meetings that have been carried out in this study found a new data that the use of this media in Civics subjects in class V SDN Ketajen I Sidoarjo showed that the average percentage of student achievement in one class (7) the observation aspect during 2 meetings) is very high, which is 84%. Then the critical thingking test result data is 81.15 (complete). In addition, this media also received a good student interest response, namely at the last meeting (2nd) getting an attention score of 17.5 (very good), evidence of 11.0 (good), satisfaction (satisfaction) of 7.0 (enough), and relevance of 8 (enough).
The purpose of this study is to determine the scientific literacy of teacher candidates through Nature of Science (NoS) in Inquiry-Based Learning. This research uses descriptive research method with quantitative approach. The subjects in this study were 24 students in the A4 class of Teacher Candidate study program. The researchers used the scientific literacy test, observation, and documentation instruments to analyze students’ scientific literacy. The indicators of scientific literacy that are used refer to the scientific literacy according to PISA. The results showed the achievement of scientific literacy of students with a high category of 62.5%, with a moderate category of 25%, and a low category of 12.5%. Meanwhile, the achievement of each indicator in each aspect of scientific literacy shows that student literacy related to the achievement of the scientific context aspect is 84.83%, the aspect of science knowledge is 86.32%, and the aspect of science competence is 81.99%. The mean percentage of students achieving scientific literacy from all aspects is 84.38% with a high category. Thus, it can be concluded that lectures through Nature of Science (NoS) in Inquiry-Based Learning can be used to improve students’ scientific literacy.
The draft of entrepreneurship curriculum design in monolithic program of PGSD Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Faculty of Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo (UMSIDA), an entrepreneurship-based curriculum design which will be internalized in the course of PKN and all student activities activities both inside and outside the campus so as to provide the impact that affects the life skills of students after graduating from college. This research uses the research and development approach of the Dick and Carey development model through step 1 analysis which contains three procedural steps in the Dick and Carey development model among which analyzes the need to identify the purpose of developing the design of the entrepreneurship curriculum monolithics on the subject of Civics (asses needs to identity goals), analyze instructional analysis, analyze learners and contexts, 2) develop, design, and 4) implementation (implementation). Based on result of trial I with average score 4,1 with good criterion and trial II with average score 4.5 with very good criterion which have been conducted in this research found new data that course of PKn in Prodi PGSD will can run more interesting if the lecturers are interested in doing a development in the learning process. Such as by using the learning system of Civics courses with the integration of entrepreneurship character in monolithic. This is shown so that the students to have an interest in the process of learning Civics and at the time of learning Civics not only learn the theory materials, but also can learn about the character values. After studying by using integration of entrepreneurship character in monolithic at Civic course, it seems that there is a change to student's learning style, so that orientation is more to develop a personality and character of student to have more analytical and critical attitude. The result of the learning process also shows the students are more responsive to all events and events that exist and occur around the social environment, this began to appear when students make presentations on ideas and ideas that will be done when they are back in the community, there is a material discussed will always be linked about the role of a prospective teacher to the life of the surrounding community.
