The quality of learning relies on the teacher, serving as a critical factor in determining its effectiveness. This study aims to develop a teacher competency model through Lesson Study (LS) activities. Model competence refers to the regulation of Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture No 6565 in 2020. This study applied the qualitative descriptive research design. It utilized the lesson study approach in developing EFL teacher's professional knowledge competence, professional learning practice competence, and career professional development. The participants involved four EFL Teachers at Senior High School 10 Ternate City Indonesia. They consisted of one male and three females. Four EFL teachers were selected through purposive sampling with four criteria: (a) sex, (b) age, (c) teaching experience (d) educational background, and, (e) job status. Furthermore, the study data were obtained through three LS phases (plan, teach/do, and reflect/see) for four cycles. A 4-point Likert scale ((1=Thriving; 2= Capable; 3 = Worth; and 4 = advanced) was utilized to measure lesson study profile aspects on the development of EFL Teachers' Model competencies and it is an effect on students’ communication and critical thinking skills. Data was gained by a 4-point Likert scale calculated with frequency and presentation formula through Microsoft Excel Windows 10. The result showed that LS activities impacted the development of knowledge competencies, professional learning practices, and professional development of EFL teachers in learning English. It also improves communication, critical thinking, and student enthusiasm for English learning in class. This study provides opportunities for teachers to share knowledge, good learning practices, and experience, as well as reflect and learn to collaborate professionally. This study represents a unique contribution by integrating three models of teacher competence as an effort to adjust the Independent Curriculum.
Speaking is one of the most important skills in English. Speaking English in public is difficult for Indonesian students because English is learnt as foreign language. Speaking practice should be done continually and effectively. Personal presentation is used as a practice method for students to be able to speak in public. By combining digital technology and education, the objectives of this study are (1) classifying the time allotment of personal documentation video done by students; (2) describing the topics of personal documentation video done by students; (3) describing the speaking problems faced by students; and (4) classifying the advantages of students by composing personal documentation video. This descriptive qualitative study analyzed data in the form of speaking recorded in video projects done by students and interviewed result with the students. After classifying the data based on the duration of the videos, it was found that there are 21 videos (25,30%) which have duration less than 7 minutes, 52 videos (62,65%) which fulfill the duration requirement in 7 -10 minutes, and there are 10 videos (12,05%) which have more than 10 minutes duration. It shows students' vocabulary mastery in describing something. The common topics used by students in the project were hometown, hobbies, describing things, and tourism or travel experiences. This study found that the common problem in speaking is the lack of confidence caused by the lack of vocabulary, grammar, fluency and pronunciation. This study also finds the advantages of students' developments in speaking skill for presentation after composing personal documentation video project.
Disable Motorcycle Indonesia (DMI) merupakan wadah bagi pemotor roda tiga untuk beraktualisasi dan melakukan advokasi hak. Kehadiran komunitas berdampak pada proses pemberdayaan yang terjadi bagi anggotanya. Peluang dan kesempatan untuk beraktualisasi diperoleh para anggota melalui jaringan sosial yang difasilitasi oleh komunitas. Dalam prosesnya, para anggota yang semula kurang berdaya menjadi berdaya berkat modal sosial yang menjadi fondasi pemberdayaan. Adapun metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Setelah data terkumpul, data kemudian dianalisis dan disajikan secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa proses pemberdayaan DMI dilakukan dengan mengoptimalkan potensi modal sosial yang ada berupa kesamaan nilai, pengalaman dan kepentingan sebagai disabilitas daksa dan pemotor roda tiga. Potensi modal sosial ini kemudian didayagunakan untuk membentuk komunitas secara formal. Pembentukan komunitas ini mempermudah pengorganisasian jaringan sosial yang ada, sehingga modal sosial mampu dimanfaatkan untuk melaksanakan aktivitas komunitas yang berfokus pada pemberdayaan bagi para anggotanya. Kata kunci: komunitas disabilitas, modal sosial, proses pemberdayaan Abstract Disable Motorcycle Indonesia (DMI) is a forum for three-wheeled motorcycle users to actualize and advocate rights. The presence of this community has an impact on the empowerment process that occurs among its members. Members obtain opportunities and chances for actualization through social networks facilitated by the community. In the process, from powerless members becoming empowered, social capital becomes a power base used to go beyond the stages in the empowerment process. The research method used is qualitative research. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. After the data is collected, the data is analyzed and presented descriptively. The results of this study indicate that the DMI empowerment process is conducted by optimizing the potential of social capital in the form of shared values, experiences and interests as disabled people and tricycle motorists. This potential of social capital is then utilized to form a formal community. This community facilitates the organization of existing social networks so that social capital can be used to carry out community activities that focus on empowering its members. Kerang hijau (Perna viridis) merupakan salah hewan dari kelas bivalvia yang berhabitat di kawasan perairan estuari, teluk dan daerah mangrove. Kerang hijau termasuk kedalam kelompok suspension feeder yaitu memakan apa saja yang ada disekitarnya sehingga kerang hijau dapat mengakumulasi mikroplastik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bentuk mikroplastik yang ditemukan pada sampel kerang hijau (Perna viridis) di Alue Naga, Kecamatan Syiah Kuala, Kota Banda Aceh.Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Mei-Juni 2021. Pengambilan data dengan menggunakan metode survei yang menggunakan teknik random sampling. Objek penelitian ini yaitu berupa kerang hijau (Perna viridis) yang diperoleh dari kawasan Alue Naga, Kecamatan Syiah Kuala, Kota Banda Aceh. Parameter yang diamati pada penelitian ini adalah bentuk mikroplastik yang terdapat pada kerang hijau (Perna viridis). Data dianalisis secara deskriptif yang ditampilkan dalam bentuk gambar dan tabel berdasarkan bentuk mikroplastiknya. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa mikroplastik di kawasan Alue Naga ditemukan dalam 4 bentuk mikroplastik yaitu, bentuk fiber, fragmen, film, dan pelet.
