The research aims to know: 1) To know the results of learning overlap technique on the base of heat by using conventional learning model of students of class XI SMK Negeri 1 Berastagi. 2) To know the result of learning technique of overlap on the base of heat after using direct instruction model assisted by flipchart media of student of class XI SMK Negeri 1 Berastagi. 3) To know how far the influence of learning result of overlap technique on the base of heat after using direct instruction model assisted by flipchart media in class XI SMK Negeri 1 Berastagi. The population in this study are 97 students of class XI Kriya Tekstil SMK Negeri 1 Berastagi. Sampling technique using purposive sample that is sampling technique with certain considerations. The sample in this research is 64 students consisting of experiment class of 3 students and control class of 32 students, using quasi experiment method (Quasi experiment). The results of this research indicate that the level of trends in the results of learning overlap technique on the heat base of the class XI Kriya Tekstil SMK Negeri 1 Berastagi for experimental class tend to be very high at 75%. And the tendency level of overlap technique learning result for the control class tends to be high but only 46,87%. To test the data normality using the Liliefors formula at a significant level of 0.05 with dk = 32, in obtaining the results of learning data overlap technique on the heat base of experimental class is normally distributebecause Lcount
This research aims to: 1) to developer teaching materials based on digital module in pattern construction course, and 2) to find out the effectiveness of teaching material based on digital module in pattern construction course in fashion education section. The type of the research used in this study is Research and Development (R&D). It uses the stages or procedures that have been adapted, which include: a) needs analysis; b) developing products; c) Validation and revision; d) Small group trials of 5 students; e) Medium group trials of 15 students, and f) large group trials; g) The final product. The subjects in this research trial are 30 fashion education students class of 2017. The expert validation consists of 2 media experts and 2 material experts, and learning design experts. Data collection tools are using in this research is questionnaires to trace the needs of lecturers and students. Validators and questionnaires for effectiveness include a rating scale with data analysis techniques using a Likert scale. Digital module developed with the Edmodo application network. The result of the research from media expert get a percentage of 87.33% with very good criteria and validation of the subject matter expert with a percentage of assessment results of 90.67% with very good criteria. 2) The results of a small group trial with a percentage of 76%, with good criteria being medium with a medium group trial with a 78% percentage assessment with criteria and a large group trial with a percentage of 90%, with very good criteria. 3) Testing the effectiveness of students with a percentage of 90% with very good criteria. Trial of effectiveness by lecturers with assessment percentage 92% get very good criteria. So, the development of teaching materials based on digital module in the construction course of Fashion Education Students in 2017 is considered effective and feasible to be used as learning media.
This research is a research and development with the aim to determine the effectiveness of Discovery Learning models in the Fashion Technology course of Fashion Design students, Medan State University developed using Computer base learning (CBI) and to find out the learning outcomes of Fashion Technology students of Dressing Education Study Program. This research is done because of the gaps that arise in student learning outcomes because of the lack of balanced mastery of theoretical and practical competencies in students, in addition to the constraints in the learning process, including because the material achievements are very limited, student activity is still low, the learning model used is not appropriate, and learning still uses the teacher center learning method, the use of learning media that has not varied, it is a major obstacle for students in achieving their competence. The purpose of using discovery learning models is to help students in learning, as well as providing practical-realistic opportunities for lecturers and students for independent learning, useful and continuously developing, and increasing student flexibility, by combining the best aspects of face to face and learning. The advantages of discovery learning models help students improve cognitive skills and processes. The data collected from the results of product trials is used as a basis for determining effectiveness, and attractiveness of products developed before being used in the field. The results of the trial of material experts showed a percentage (78.33), were in good enough qualification, so that the CBI media needed to be revised. Learning design experts judge CBI media to be in the percentage (82.33%). This percentage is in good qualification, which means it needs a little revision. The percentage of instructional media experts is almost the same as teach design experts, namely (82.85%). This means that the Computer Base Learning (CBI) media are in good qualifications and need a little revision. During the individual trials involving five students, the results of the assessment showed a percentage (74.33%). This means that the CBI media is in sufficient qualification and needs sufficient revision. Field test results with a percentage (82.14%) by students and (87.27%) by lecturers. Both are in good qualifications, so CBI Media needs a little revision. The expected result of this study is the increase of student competence in the Fashion Technology course through discovery learning models with a computer base learning (CBI) approach as a medium.
