Self-confidence is a very important aspect for someone to be able to develop their potential. If students have good self-confidence, then students can develop their potential well. The purpose of this study is to determine the correlation between student's self-confidence and the learning achievement of Elementary Schools in Kota Tengah Sub-district. This is generated from the problem of the research. To find out the correlation, a quantitative research approach with ex post facto method was employed. This study involved students from all public elementary schools in the Kota Tengah Sub-district as the population of the research with samples of 80 respondents. Data collection techniques used documentation, questionnaires, and observations. Meanwhile, data analysis techniques applied the Spearman rank test and T-test. Based on the hypothesis test that has been done, it was found that there is a relationship of self-confidence with the learning achievement. Moreover, significant test of correlation also obtainsthe outcome in the medium category. Therefore, it can be stated that there is a correlation between student's self-confidence and the learning achievement on Elementary Schools.
This research aims to develop a natural science learning video of the human respiratory system using simple materials. We used Borg and Gall’s model yet in a limited manner as we only used the five initial stages the model required, i.e., (1) finding the potentials and problems, (2) collecting information and literature studies, (3) designing the product, (4) validating the design, and (5) revising the design. Research data were collected using observation and interview methods. Findings indicate that the mean of the validity score of visual media and materials included in learning media was 93.33% and 94.54%, respectively.
The problem in this study is whether there is an influence of the inquiry learning model on the character of students' curiosity in learning science in grade IV SDN 15 Telaga Biru, Gorontalo District. The aim is to determine the effect of inquiry learning models on the character of students' curiosity in science learning in grade IV SDN 15 Telaga Biru Gorontalo district. This research was conducted using the pre-experimental design method with the design of one group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study were all fourth grade students of SDN 15 Telaga Biru. Withdrawal of the sample using saturated sampling technique, which amounted to 29 people, where all members of the population made as research samples. This study uses a questionnaire as an instrument. Based on the results of the study, there is an influence of the inquiry learning model on the character of student curiosity, with the average value of the results of the character of students' curiosity in the treatment class before using the inquiry learning model which is 69, 190 and after using the inquiry learning model is 82, 328. Based on the criteria of hypothesis testing obtained t count = 7.974 and t table = 1.70 or t count> t table, in other words tcount is outside the acceptance area of the hypothesis H0 (H0 is rejected) which means accepting the alternative hypothesis (H1 accepted). This means that there is an influence of the inquiry learning model on the character of students' curiosity in science learning in grade IV SDN 15 Telaga Biru.
Education in elementary school is a determining factor to produce students with good characters and morality. Recently, the dynamics of Indonesian education is significantly changing. This change ranges from the advancement of science and technology to curriculum shifting, and, to the most recent controversial full-day school program. This descriptive research aims at describing elementary school teachers' readiness in the implementation of full-day school. The sample is from 100 elementary school teachers from a number of schools in some sub-district in Gorontalo regency. Each is chosen randomly and entirely by chance. The indicators of this research are (1) teachers' willingness, (2) ability, and (3) motivation. The results report that teachers' willingness in implementing full-day school is at 77.20% (good). Furthermore, the percentages on the ability and motivation are at 72.67% (good) and 69.71% (sufficient) respectively. The data distribution on the scope of willingness is 80.85% (good), 76.79% (good), and 77.20% (good) for teachers' enthusiasm, confidence, and enjoyment correspondingly. In the range of motivation, it is reported that teachers' knowledge is at 72.30% (good) and skill is at 73.03% (good). The statistical reports on the aspects of motivation, such as physical working conditions, social conditions, and individual needs, are at 76.68%, 65.71% (sufficient), and 66.75% (sufficient) respectively. These results suggest evaluation on the implementation policy of full-day school in Gorontalo regency.
The present study aimed to explore the antecedent planning of metacognitive strategy-based natural sciences learning in elementary schools in Gorontalo City. It employed an evaluative descriptive approach and the Stake's Countenance evaluation model. The research subjects were the teachers of the selected elementary schools. Further, the data was collected through observation, study documentation, and interviews. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique in this study was carried out in a qualitative descriptive manner. The qualitative data were analyzed using thematic analysis by comparing data at one stage of the Countenance Stake model. The study found that the metacognitive strategy-based lesson plan arrived at the "adequate" category (68.90%).
