Writing is a difficult skill for the students at SMPN 26 Makassar. It could be seen from the result of a diagnostic test which showed the ability of the second year students of SMPN 26 Makassar in writing paragraphs was still poor. The students were unable to express their ideas well in making descriptive texts. The research used Classroom Action Research that consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection. It conducted in two cycles in which each cycle comprised four meetings. The subjects of this research were 28 students of the second year students of SMPN 26 Makassar.The findings indicated that the students’ ability to write descriptive text in cycle 1 has not reached the score target because the mean score of the students was 66.52 that classified as “fairly good” whereas, In cycle 2 the students’ mean score was 75.26. It indicated that the score target has been reached and classified as “Good”. Therefore, the researcher suggested the English teacher apply Four Square Writing Method as one of the alternative ways of teaching writing subject in the classroom especially in teaching the descriptive text.
This research aimed at finding out whether or not the implementation gallery walk technique in improve the students speaking skill term of accuracy and fluency at the SMP UNISMUH Makassar. This research was conducted through pre-experimental method. The populasi of this research consisted of one class of the second grade and the sample of the research, the researcher took VIII A 1 class which consisted of 23 students at High School SMP UNISMUH Makassar, year 2019/2020.In collecting data, the researcher gave a speaking test, the speaking test help into two steps, there were pre-test and post-test, while to analyzed data , the researcher used (t)test. The findings of this research showed that the mean score in pre-test in term of pronouncation was (53,30) and post-test was (76,56). The mean score in pre-test in term smoothness was (51,86) and post-test was (80,04). And the total result of pronouncation and smoothness in pre-test or X1 was (53,39) and the post-test or X2 was (76,56). So, this is showed students got improvement in thier speaking after being taught through gallery walk technique, the students ability in speaking english became better than befofe. This research aims to find out the effectiveness of Door-to-Door method and also the obstacles faced by the English teacher at SMAN 5 Selayar that used Door to Door method. The study used Descriptive Qualitative methods and collect data through collect result study of students, in-depth interview and audio record. The sample of this study was result study of students from 2 classes and English teachers at SMAN 5 Selayar who was use the Door to Door method. Samples was taken by using purposive techniques. Analysis data uses reduction data, display data and conclusion. Based on the findings of the study, there are 2 results obtained the first effectiveness of the use of Door to Door which can be seen from the results study of students, for class XIIS 1 all of a total of 18 students they get a score above 75 (KKM), For class XIIS 2, 13 people out of 16 total students get a score above 75 (KKM). For obstacles there are three, namely transportation costs, time and energy. After using the Door to Door method, students' learning outcomes increased and 75% of each class met the score of 75 (KKM) and it proved that this method was effectively used during the pandemic, and there were several obstacles faced by English teachers in the implementation of the Door to Door method, namely greater transportation costs, longer time taken and greater family energy. Therefore, based on the results, it is recommended to use the Door to Door method during the pandemic, especially at the remote area.
This research finding out whether the blog increases the students’ writing skill. In this study, researcher used in this quantitative research is a pre-experimental method. This kind of study allows the researcher to look at the effects of at least one independent variable and one dependent variable. In this research, the researcher wanted to see whether the treatment make a difference or no. Population The population of the research was the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 4 Jeneponto in the academic year of 2019/2020. Sample, the sample was selected by using cluster random sampling technique. The researcher chose one class as the sample. Research Instrument, the instrument used in this research was writing test. To test writing ability the researcher will ask the students to write three paragraphs. There will be two tests, namely pre-test & post-test.
