The purpose of this study was to identify and to obtain information related to the problems in the academic supervision process encountered by the school principals during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study utilized a case study method to obtain data on the constraints and consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic on academic supervision activities at Senior High School (SMA N) in Bangkinang. Data were obtained through questions filled in Google form. The respondents in this study were 4 senior high school principals in Bangkinang. The results of this study were that during the Covid-19 pandemic, supervision was conducted online based on various types of online tools such as Google Meet, Zoom, Google duo and WhatsApp. However, the principals experienced several obstacles in conducting online-based academic supervision due to the absence of standard applications provided by the government to facilitate the process of supervision. Also many teachers did not master the use of information technology (IT).
This study is conceptual research. It outlines the integration of collaborative model and discovery methods in language teaching. This concept has an advantage that it stimulates students to construct new knowledge through a collaborative and explorative way. This study discusses about the model of collaborative discovery method in which this model involves students to explore the knowledge both individually and in groups. The collaboration of individual and group study will encourage students’ active participation in learning. The model of collaborative discovery method becomes an ideal choice in language teaching.
It is interesting to study Kaba Gadih Basanai for several reasons, namely (1) kaba is increasingly disappearing from the lives of Minangkabau society; (2) young generations who are able to deliver this kaba are getting fewer; and (3) this kaba contains very positive moral values for education in Indonesia. This study aimed to reconstruct the moral values contained in Kaba Gadih Basanai, so that this study would facilitate the reader to understand Kaba Gadih Basanai. The findings obtained from this story are the moral values which include (1) friendly, (2) humble, (3) sociable, (4) respect for parents, (5) knowing reciprocity, (6) high sense of brotherhood, (7) loyal, (8) selfless, (9) the habit of gambling. Thus, it can be concluded that kaba is laden with teachings that are worthy of imitation even though we live in a sophisticated world. However, there are also negative moral teachings that must be avoided
This research was conducted to analyze and evaluate the quality of semester tests made by grade VIII teachers of junior high school (SMP) at Kec. Tambang for English subject. Thus, it was classified into evaluation studies. The findings revealed that the tests were categorized as valid and had the highest reliability index (0.71). Among the four tests, the semester test used at SMPN 4 got the best quality compared to tests used at other schools. In conclusion, the quality of the semester tests designed by English teachers in class VIII at SMP Negeri Kec. Tambang varied in terms of validity and reliability.
