These results demonstrate that RA patients have high levels of inflammatory markers, and these levels are correlated with the DAS28. These findings suggest a possible role of these markers in the pathogenesis of RA. Moreover, these biomarkers can be used as markers of disease activity in the diagnosis and treatment of RA.
Abstract:Pneumonia is an infection of pulmonary parenchyma, it is an inflammatory cell in alveolar spaces of lungs by infection, and most commonly is by aspiration from oropharyengeal. It can result from variety of causes including infection with bacteria, viruses' fungi, parasites and chemical and physical injury to lungs. CRP is an acute phase protein levels of which rise in response to inflammation. The present study was undertaken with objectives-to study the hs CRP levels in patient of pneumonia and to study CURB 65 and PSI Score in patient of pneumonia. A cross-sectional study was conducted in department of medicine, Muzaffarnagar Medical College, Muzaffarnagar, having100 patients of pneumonia registered at MMC between 1 st April 2014 to 31 st March 2015. CURB 65 and PSI score were calculated for each patient to stratify into their respective risk class hs CRP LEVELS were measured on day 1 and again on day 5 and 7. High admission hsCRP>70 mg /l were effectively predicts poor out come and severe community acquired pneumonia.
Effects of three drugs, Gemfibrozil, Diltiazem and Isosorbide dinitrate (ISDN) on various lipid parameters were studied in patients with ischemic heart disease (IHD) with positive treadmill stress response. Gemfibrozil and diltiazem significantly lowered the levels of serum total lipids (TL), triglycerides (TG), phospholipids (PL), total cholesterol (TC), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and very low density lipoprotein cholesterol (VLDL-C), and increased the levels of serum high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) significantly. However, patients administered with ISDN showed a significant increase in all the lipid parameters except HDL-C, which showed a significant decrease.
