Because of the advantages of bamboo and the decreasing supply of teak, as a material for the construction of small Indonesian fishing boats, bamboo becomes an alternative substitute for teak as a common material to construct this type of boat. There are many bamboo species and populations in Indonesia which form the basis for selecting an advanced alternative material to construct fishing boats. This study discusses the mechanical properties of laminated bamboo slats, with a polyamide epoxy adhesive made by employing a manual cold press method. The type of bamboo used was the Bambusa Arundinacea variety that was greater than 3 years old. The bamboo laminate flexural strength was tested using the ASTM D 3043 Standard. The results of these tests revealed that the flexural strength of the laminated bamboo slats provided bending strengths of MOR and MOE values of 84.12 MPa and 18.04 GPa respectively. By using MOR and MOE values, and based on Bureau Classification of Indonesia (BKI), the shell thickness of 30 GT a fishing boat was calculated to be 25 -28 mm (bottom shell) and 19 -21 mm (side shell). These dimensions showed that the shell thickness can be reduced up to 33.3% when compared with teak (Tectona Grandis ) and the total volume of shell material to build a 30 GT of fishing boat, can be reduced by approximately 30%. The flexural strength of the bamboo slat laminate was shown to be 20% higher than 2nd class solid teak.
Process monitoring of ship production in Indonesia is currently still using conventional methods. Ship production has stages, preparation to the erection. Each of these stages has results that need to monitor and their progress recorded. Therefore, it is necessary to have a system that fasts, practical, and responsive monitoring directly in the work area for actual conditions; one solution is a QR-code technology-based system. The design steps are making the basic framework, diagram of the relationship between entities, prototype design, central page division. These systems are formed in a website called Ship Building Monitoring Process based on QR-code SBMQ. Technical analysis is carried out by making applications, managing system security, creating business processes and operational systems, implementing them with simulations and trials. The trial application of the SBMQ website determines the contribution of implementing the website monitoring process of ship production. The trial was accompanied by the distribution of questionnaires from samples of shipbuilding practitioners. The SBMQ ship production monitoring system can accelerate review, tracking, and report verification assessment with practitioners is 3.125 with a good category.
Salah satu alasan pemodal membeli kapal tanker bekas adalah karena lamanya waktu pembangunan dan tingginya biaya investasi untuk membangun sebuah kapal baru. Namun demikian terkait dengan harga kapal tanker bekas, saat ini masih belum ada metode yang tepat untuk memprediksi nilainya. Multi-faktor seperti: tahun pembuatan, kapasitas kapal, negara asal pembuat, dan operasional kapal menjadikan proses memprediksi harga kapal ini menjadi lebih kompleks dibandingkan single-faktor. Kompleksitas tersebut membuat penentuan harga kapal tanker bekas pula menjadi berbeda-beda antar penilai. Estimasi harga kapal bekas yang kurang tepat dapat merugikan perusahaan jika harga beli lebih mahal dari nilai kapal bekas sesungguhnya. Tujuan dari paper ini adalah membuat pemodelan statistik untuk memprediksi harga kapal tanker bekas agar mendekati harga semestinya. Pemodelan dibuat secara simultan dengan mempertimbangkan faktor kualitatif meliputi umur kapal dan ukuran DWT dan faktor kuantitatif dimana mengacu pada galangan pembuat, klas dan negara asal pembuat kapal. Data kapal yang terkumpul, yang diperoleh dari data pusat broker kapal internasional secara online, kemudian dianalisa secara statistik dengan melakukan regresi secara multikolinearitas. Data-data ini kemudian diuji secara statistik antara lain yaitu: uji serentak, uji individu, uji asumsi normalitas, uji asumsi heteroscedasticity, dan penentuan koefisien determinasi. Korelasi kuadratik didapatkan antara umur dengan harga kapal, sedangkan umur dengan DWT berhubungan secara logaritmik.
