Pandemi COVID-19 berdampak pada berbagai aspek dan bidang kehidupan termasuk kesehatan yang berkaitan dengan kerentanan imunitas serta kesehatan mental yang memicu stres, kecemasan, dan depresi. Remaja merupakan kelompok yang rentan terhadap penyebaran COVID-19 dan mengalami masalah kesehatan mental selama masa pandemi. Self-management melalui diet yang mengandung probiotik dan prebiotik dapat menjadi salah salah satu upaya adjuvant treatment dalam meningkatkan imunitas dan kesehatan mental. Dengan demikian, diperlukan edukasi terkait meningkatkan imunitas dan kesehatan mental selama masa pandemi COVID-19. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah memberikan pendidikan kesehatan secara daring dengan tema happy tummy, happy brain untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan terkait pentingnya diet probiotik dan prebiotik dalam meningkatkan imunitas dan kesehatan mental selama masa pandemi COVID-19. Peserta kegiatan pendidikan kesehatan ini adalah 32 orang remaja di Kabupaten Garut. Pendidikan kesehatan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan partisipan terkait manajemen imunitas dan kesehatan mental melalui diet probiotik dan prebiotik secara signifikan (p< .001). Pendidikan kesehatan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan sikap dan perilaku partisipan untuk membiasakan diri mengonsumsi diet yang mengandung probiotik dan prebiotik untuk meningkatkan imunitas dan kesehatan mental.
Compliance of patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in undergoing therapy is essential in reducing the viral load. Currently, the world is in the era of revolution 4.0, where there is a combination between technology and human needs. The effort to adapt to this condition is by utilizing Telehealth. Telehealth is considered efficient in controlling, monitoring, and providing palliative care remotely. This study's purpose is to review Telehealth's effectiveness as an alternative method of increasing anti-retroviral treatment compliance in children, adolescents, and young adults with HIV. Using scoping review method with inclusion criteria for articles published in 2012 – 2022, Randomized Control Trial and Experimental Study research design, and published in English. Selection of articles using PRISMA Flow Diagram. The database consists of PubMed and EBSCO using keywords telenursing, compliance, anti-retroviral agents, and children. Four articles were included in the study out of 895 identified articles. The use of Telehealth provides the potential for both children and youth to increase patient motivation and adherence to treatment. Telehealth in patients with HIV used short messages. So, Telehealth has the potential to become an alternative method of increasing anti-retroviral treatment adherence in children, adolescents, and young adults with HIV.
This study aimed to highlight and focus on curcumin’s role in enhancing the body defense mechanism against tuberculosis (TB) infection, using a narrative review. This review was identified by four search engines: PubMed, Science Direct, Research Gate, and Google Scholar. We found that as an immunomodulator, curcumin reduces the production of specific cytokines by inhibiting the transcription factor. In the same mechanism, curcumin also activates the host macrophages, dendritic maturation, and modulation of the antigen-presenting cell process. Curcumin also increases apoptosis as a defence mechanism against TB infection. Curcumin also increases B-cell proliferation and downregulates oxidative stress on B-cells. As results, curcumin is a potential immunomodulator that complements M. TB treatment, especially in Indonesia. It can be stated that curcumin is proven to be a promising strategy in complementing TB prevention also treatment.
Osteoarthritis is a chronic disease that is common in the elderly and may recur and take place so that it can lead to progressive joint destruction during the client does not maintain regular lifestyle. Hence the need for an integrated program such as Self-Management that involves the client in arthritis management, decisions on the handling and treatment, so that the client actively participate in the management of the disease.The purpose of this literature review is to explain to the client's selfmanagement of arthritis based on scientific research journal literature sources related.The method used in the writing of this literature review is surf the internet from Proquest databases, Google Scholar, Medscape and EBSCO using keywords Self-Management of, programs, and arthritis. Data were obtained, systematically arranged and conducted a discussion.Self-Management of the program is an effective way to prevent a decrease in motor activity and physical disability in the elderly, especially the client, so the client can improve the quality of life better. Advanced research related to self-management program on the client arthritis and community-based services can be applied to this program in Indonesia in particular.
