Nursing is a profession providing services directly to people through interpersonal relationships. Using emotional intelligence and communication skills, nurses, while taking care, could detect more accurately the needs of patients and create a positive impact on patients by providing effective care. Emotional intelligence and communication skills should get involved and developed in the nursing education process. The purpose of this study is to evaluate nursing students' levels of emotional intelligence and communication skills and to determine the relationship between them. The data were obtained from 195 students studying in Harran University Nursing Department Extended Summary PurposeIt is necessary to use communication skills (CS) to establish effective interpersonal relationships. The occupations need to be together with people like nursing, should be more dominant on CS. Nursing is a helping profession that gives direct service to individuals through interpersonal relationships. The relationship between nurse and patient in nursing services is an important aspect of caring. Nurses, while taking care of people who need nursing care, use CS. Because without knowing the patient and understanding their requirements, it is not possible to provide effective care. In this case, communication knowledge and skill is a tool for the nurse to reach to his or her patient and nurses need to have high levels of CS. In order to establish a help relationship to meet the needs of patient, nurses must be aware of selfrecognition, their feelings and reactions. For this reason, one of the important concepts in the field of nursing is emotional intelligence (EI). Today in conducting nursing services, in order to meet the needs of direct patient care and to work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team the use of EI is necessary. For this reason, CS and EI are among the issues to be addressed in nursing education. The aim of this study is to examine the levels of EI and CS of university students in the field of nursing according to properties related to socio-demographic and families of students and to determine the relationship between EI and CS.
ÖZETBu araştırma hastanelerin kliniklerinde çalışan hemşirelerin, hastanede kullandıkları elektronik tıbbi kayıtlara ilişkin görüşlerinin kullanım, kalite ve kullanıcı tatmini açısından değerlendirmesini yapmaktır. Araştırma, anket esasına dayalı bir alan araştırmasıdır. Araştırma Şanlıurfa ili merkezinde bulunan Harran Üniversitesi Hastanesi ile Özel Edessa hastanesinin kliniklerinde çalışan hemşirelere yapılmıştır. Araştırmada, hastanelerin kliniklerinde çalışan 115 hemşirenin 93'üne anket uygulanmıştır. ABSTRACTThe purpose of the study, nurses working in hospitals, clinics, opinion on the use of electronic medical records in the hospital they use their own work, is to make an assessment in terms of quality and user satisfaction. A virus detected in Wuhan, China on December 29, 2019, was named covid-19 and declared a pandemic by the world health organization on March 11, 2020, due to the destruction caused by this virus.Due to the lack of any treatment method for the new virus, many countries and pharmaceutical companies have started to develop vaccines against this virus. Although rapidly developed vaccines have been put into practice worldwide, some individuals objected to being vaccinated for reasons such as vaccine hesitancy or anti-vaccination. Some of the individuals in Turkey are also indecisive about vaccines and therefore do not want to be vaccinated. The purpose of this research is to develop a scale with proven validity and reliability to measure the perceptions and attitudes of individuals aged 18 and over living in Turkey towards Covid-19 vaccines. For this purpose, the covid-19 vaccine perception and attitude scale, which consists of 21 expressions and 2 sub-dimensions, was transferred to the electronic environment and applied to 291 people in Turkey between 15.09.2021 and 16.09.2021. The reliability values of both sub-dimensions of the scale used in the research were high. According to the Bartlett test performed, it is appropriate and necessary to perform factor analysis on the items in the scale, the sample size is sufficient in terms of representing the universe in the research for factor analysis of the KMO coefficient, and the high factor loads of the items in the scale show that it is important for the scale to which the items belong. As a result, it has been determined that this developed scale is a valid measurement tool to determine the covid-19 vaccine perceptions and attitudes of people aged 18 and over, according to the results of the analysis, and its reliability is also high.
