Kata kunci: menulis kreatif, metode quantum AbstractThis research was attempted to develop model and manual on creative writing based on quantum writing method on S-1 applied vocational education, Bali State Polytechnic. This analysis is done because the students' skill in writing is still lacking, though in fact writing is part of mastering Indonesian language. The object being studies was the writing learning process based on quantum writing at Bali State Polytechnic. Observation, interview and questionnaire were applied to gather the data which was then analyzed by using t-test paired sample. This teaching development program results in a module to be used as self-administered learning source. The research result shows that 85,81% of the respondents agreed that the module being developed can be well applied in writing teaching learning process. The field research also shows that the module can significantly improve the learners' achievement. This can be seen from the score difference of delta pre-test and post-test on the experiment class is much higher than on the control class; 0.15 compared to 0.08. In the attempt to test the module, some analysis have been done such as content validation, media validation and design validation. The results are as follow: content validation 82.05%, media validation 89,58% and 85,42% for design validation. Further revision is then conducted as suggested by commentators and validator for better improvement.
______________________________________________________Tri-Hita-Karana (THK) is one of the values of the Balinese people. It is believed that the inclusion of local culture into the language learning of Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) for foreign learners is not only good in enhancing students' cultural knowledge but also in adding interest and challenge to the teaching and learning process. Appropriate teaching methods are in need to teach THK values to foreign students, so that the learners understand THK cultural values well. This study is aimed at finding the appropriate method to teach Bahasa Indonesia to foreigners with the inclusion of THK values. This study was conducted with ten foreign students who learned Bahasa Indonesia in Politeknik Negeri Bali, in 2016 Darmasiswa class. Question and observation were employed to collect the data. These methods were further complemented with participatory speaking techniques. The data collected then analyzed with coherence method. 96.7 % of the participants responded that the method used for teaching THK is very appropriate to support the process of teaching and learning of Bahasa Indonesia for foreign students. Based on the study of the responses given by the foreign learners of Bahasa Indonesia, it could be summarized that 96.7 % the respondents indicated that the methods which incorporated THK were very appropriate to support the teaching and learning process of Bahasa Indonesia for foreign students. This study also revealed that there were some methods which were more appreciated by the learners, such as: guessing pictures, running dictation, observation, video documentation, immersion, and debate. Amongst the methods, immersion was the most preferred, because through this method, learners could directly feel and experience the cultures of Balinese daily life.
Even though a dictionary is said to be more important to be used while students are reading and writing than speaking, but its existence among learners is undebatable. This need becomes much greater when learners are faced with specific terms in certain sciences, such as the science of Financial Accounting. This study aims to determine the students’ perceptions of the existence of the Bilingual Dictionary of Financial Accounting Terminology, entitled: Kamus Istilah Dwibahasa Akuntansi Keuangan. A questionnaire consisting of 17 questions was distributed to 28 students of a bilingual class in the Accounting Department of a state higher education institution in Bali. The questionnaire was distributed in the form of Google Form, while the dictionary that had been planned given in printed version, finally given in the form of a simple e-Dictionary, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The results of the questionnaire obtained were then analyzed to determine students’ perceptions of this bilingual dictionary. It is found that students were very happy with the existence of this dictionary. This can be seen from the positive responses given to almost all statements raised, which involved 3 aspects, namely: dictionary design, dictionary content, and mechanical aspects, i.e.: matters related to writing, structure, and spelling. Furthermore, the result also shows that the dictionary is able to give bits of help in the students’ learning processes and to motivate students to be more creative in using vocabulary, especially the financial accounting terminology.
Understanding stakeholders' perception on organization social responsibility initiative is very important for the success of the initiative itself. Green Tourism is Bali State Polytechnic (BSP)'s special program to show its social responsibility commitment. In order to succeed, the Green Tourism program should be conducted based on and able to meet the stakeholders' needs and expectations. This study investigates BSP's internal stakeholders' perception on Green Tourism program. A questionnaire is developed based on a literature review and interview which resulted in a total of 59 indicators which was answered by a total of 289 students, lecturers, and administration staff. The data is analysed by using descriptive statistics and important-performance analysis (IPA). The result shows that the stakeholders have a relatively high perception on the importance of Green Tourism programs but perceive that its implementation still requires more improvements. All three themes; green ethics, green business, and green physics are considered both very important and already well implemented but still need more improvements. BSP need to improve efforts on some indicators such as praying before activities, encourage honesty, discipline, and care attitudes, integrate religious values into teaching learning process, encourage work culture, set up discussion groups, encourage voluntary culture, create group work, regularly communicate campus activities to public; and maintain buildings.
In the lens of technology used in classroom instruction, the 360-video virtual reality begins to use in the education field. This study aimed to identify the Indonesian language students in the higher education level perceptions of the use of SVVR (Spherical Virtual-based Video Reality) which was operated through the smartphone. The performance expectancy (PE) and effort expectancy (EE) in the UTAUT theory was employed to assess the data. There were 131 sophomores who learn the Indonesian language in the tourism department in the State Polytechnic of Bali involved to provide specific arguments through the questionnaire. The result of the study explained that learners in the Polytechnic education system were keen to engage SVVR (Spherical Virtual-Video Based Reality) during the teaching and learning process. Additionally, this learning medium elevated students’ urge significantly in learning the Indonesian language. Subsequently, the SVVR will be a promising tool employed by the lecturer who teaches the learners in the applied education system. These learning materials ought to be explored and developed more systematically by lecturers in underpinning students’ demand for knowledge and materials understanding in vocational education.
