Al-Ghazali membagi ilmu menjadi dua kategori; yaitu fard{ u 'ain dan fard{ u kifa> yah. Menurut al-Attas, al-Ghazali telah memprioritaskan isi pengetahuan daripada methode. Namun, ini tidak berarti bahwa al-Ghazali mengabaikan metode. al-Ghazali berpendapat bahwa kemuliaan ilmu tergantung pada hasil dan keaslian prinsip (watha> qat al-dali> l wa qawwatihi), dan hal itu lebih penting daripada metode. Sebagai contoh, meskipun ilmu kedokteran tidak penting seperti matematika, tetapi kedokteran dianggap lebih penting bagi seorang individu. Demikian juga, ilmu agama yang lebih mulia dari ilmu kedokteran. Jadi, jika kurikulum pendidikan Islam mengacu pada klasifikasi al-Ghazali ilmu pengetahuan, pembelajaran diprioritaskan isin hal konten yang martabat ilmu itu sendiri. However, this does not mean that al-Ghazali ignores method. al-Ghazali believes that the glory of science depends on the result and the authenticity of its principles or watha> qat al-dali> l wa qawwatihi, and the firts is more essential than the second. For instance, though medical science is not as precise as mathematics, the prior is more essential for an individual than the later. So, if the curriculum of islamic education refers to Ghazali's classification of science, the prioritized learning isin terms of content that is the dignity of science itself. This article tries to see a phenomenon called Echo Chambers through the perspective of Stella Ting-Toomey's Intercultural Communication theory. This study shows that the development of social media was also followed by the shadow of Echo Chambers. The tendency to isolate oneself and associate with those who understand one another will create separate spaces between one religion and another. As a result, communication which is an effort to eliminate the polarization of the differences between "Us" and "The Others" is precisely the way to form exclusivism in cyberspace. Among the efforts to anticipate the emergence of a gap is to create melting-pot spaces in the real world. Counter narrative also needs to be built to open these exclusive barriers. Muslim scholars sought to introduce the importance of communication in achieving the harmony in community. Some Ulama have also explained the role and function of communication in achieving the goals of the muslims, as well as trying to provide an Islamic perspective regarding communication behavior. More importantly, is to create a person who is a wise, open user of social media and uses epoche in looking at the world outside.
Youtube is one of the popular media used for preaching. This study aims to analyze the stretch of da'wah on YouTube as an effort to represent Islam and to develop a positive Islamic representation. They use descriptive qualitative methods using the theory of Nidzam al-Ukhuwwah Hasan al-Banna and Ting-Toome inter-cultural communication in building a positive model of Islam in the Maya world. The author found that the younger generation carried out da'wah's propagation through Youtube and positively, Islam was represented through this preaching. They also access YouTube more than any other media platform. Therefore, somebody can build positive content and opinions in developing Islamic representation. The two strategies found are content-creating and collaboration. Through this research, Islamic da'wah via Youtube can be encouraged and grown to become a reference media in exploring Islam.ABSTRAKYoutube menjadi salah satu media populer yang digunakan untuk berdakwah. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis geliat dakwah di YouTube sebagai upaya representasi Islam dan Pembangunan Representasi Islam yang Positif. Menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan teori Nidzam al-Ukhuwwah Hasan al-Banna dan komunikasi antar-budaya Ting-Toome dalam membangun representasi positif dari Islam di dunia Maya. Penulis menemukan bahwa Geliat dakwah dilakukan oleh generasi muda melalui Youtube dan Secara Positif Islam direpresentasikan melalui dakwah tersebut. Mereka juga mengakses YouTube lebih dari platform media lain. Konten dan opini positif dalam pengembangan representasi Islam dapat terbangun. Dua strategi yang ditemukan adalah content-creating dan collaboration. Melalui penelitian ini, dakwah Islam melalui Youtube dapat didorong dan dikembangkan sehingga menjadi salah satu media rujukan dalam mendalami Islam.Kata Kunci: Dakwah Islam, Komunikasi, Dunia Maya, Representasi Islam, YouTube
Ethics is a branch of philosophy that discusses good and bad. This study still relevant to be examined and discussed until now, because by studying ethics, someone is able to find and obtain all the good things as well as to avoid the bad. However, ethics is often separated from the practice of life, one of them is modern diplomacy. Diplomacy is all the efforts made to regulate the relationship among nations. Thus, ethics of diplomacy in this sense can be meant as a basic principle or practice of diplomacy which is accountable, tolerant, and fair. Since this study is attempted to reveal how the ethics of diplomacy of Prophet Muhammad, then this study uses ethical perspective of Islam. In this approach, researcher used: first, the descriptive analysis methods to further explore the basic principle regarding diplomacy of Prophet Muhammad. Second, the critical analysis method to discover the implications and problems of the principles and practice of diplomacy in the modern era. Regarding this method, it was discovered that in fact the basic principle and practice of diplomacy of Prophet Muhammad are based on tawhīd.
