Guided Experiment Book based on SETS used a guidebook for students in carrying out scientific work. The SETS-based Guided Experiment Book assists students in developing the skills they possess and familiar with the scientific process for acquiring concepts. Primary school students who have science literacy was expected to apply concepts obtained in school with natural phenomena that occurred in everyday life. The purpose of the research to empower Science Literacy through a SETS-based Guided Experiment Book. The study involved 50 grade V students divided into 2 groups covering 25 students in the intervention group and 25 students in the control group. Activities were conducted over a period of 3 months outside of school activities. The empowerment of science literacy seen from the increased results before and after the SETS-based Guided Experiment Book implementation. SETS-based Guided Experiment Book helped students to empower science literacy through the stages of invitation, exploration, problem-solving, concept application and concluding. These stages were activities that familiarize students to learn concept through the processed and apply environmentally sound technology. Based on the results of research and hypothesis testing can conclude that Guided Experiment Book based on SETS can empower the literacy of science of elementary school students.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik pada mata pelajaran IPA materi gaya magnet dengan menggunakan model inquiry berbantuan LKS. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas. Prosedur penelitian tindakan kelas ini berbentuk siklus. Dimana setiap siklus terdiri dari lima tahap yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, refleksi dan rekomendasi. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini yaitu melalui observasi dan tes. Pengumpulan data ini menggunakan instrument berupa lembar observasi keaktifan dan keterampilan peserta didik selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung, sedangkan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar dari peserta didik digunakan tes. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik dari siklus I ke siklus II yaitu pada skor keaktifan peserta didik meningkat sejumlah 21,42%, skor keterampilan peserta didik sejumlah 14,28%, dan tes hasil belajar peserta didik sejumlah 28,57%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa model inquiry dengan berbantuan LKS mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik pada mata pelajaran IPA materi gaya magnet.Kata Kunci : Model Inquiry; Berbantuan LKS; Hasil Pembelajaran IPA
In this 21st–century, students are expected to have current competencies in which one of them is science process skills. The aim of this research was to empower science process skills through the SETS-based guided experiment book. This Posttest Only Control Group Design study involved 50 students of fifth grade which divided into two groups i.e. 25 students as the experimental group and 25 students as the control group. The activities were carried out for three months outside of school. The empowerment of science process skills was measured from the increasing scores before and after the implementation of the SETS Guided Experiment Book. The results showed that there was a significant different between experimental group and control group as the significancy value was 0.01 (sig. < 0.05). This means that the SETS-based guided experiment book can empower Science process skill of elementary school students.
<p>The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of a Science Technology Society model accompanied with Mind Map to empower the ability to science procces skills. This study was a quasi-experimental study. The study used a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population of the study was all students of grade X of Public Senior High School 7 Surakarta in the academic year of 2013/2014. Sample was taken using cluster random sampling technique with a sample of 27 students. The instrument used was questionnaire, observation sheets, interviews, and tests. The ability to KPS data was tested with the Paired sample t-test and calculated by Ngain. The results showed the effectiveness of STS models accompanied with MM, in which it had been successful in increasing the ability to KPS with a value of Ngain of 0.54 and the result was significance at p=0.000, making the ability belong to “medium” category. Based on the results of research and hypothesis testing, it can be concluded that STS model accompanied with MM was effective in empowering the ability to KPS of the tenth graders of Senior High School 7 Surakarta in the academic year of 2013/2014.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
