Proposes that emotional intelligence (Ei) enables teams to boost their performance. Looks at five Ei team competencies which build on individual Ei skills. These are inclusiveness, adaptability, assertiveness, empathy, and influence. However, these competencies are not enough on their own. There also has to be “a bridge of intent” where each member of the team commits to increasing his or her self‐understanding. In this respect Ei is not a static skill but becomes the way the team does business. Concludes that those teams which develop their Ei are likely to have far more initiative in dealing with organisational challenges, will be far better at addressing ongoing concerns such as stress, change and conflict and will genuinely get more out of work.
This paper presents performance, power and area comparisons of LC vs. Ring VCO-based PLL designs in order to determine the best option for high-speed spread spectrum clock generator (SSCG) designs. Analytical performance, power and area comparisons of LC versus Ring VCO-based PLL designs demonstrate that a Ring VCO can be used to meet the requirements of SATA and SAS applications at rates up to 6 Gbps. The designed SSCG operating frequency range is 2-4.25 GHz with RMS RJ jitter \1.3 and \1.5 pS for non-SSC and SSC modes, respectively, at 3 GHz. The measured EMI reduction is 18 and 21 dB for 2,300 and 4,600 ppm SSC, respectively, also at 3 GHz.
Depth patterns of size and abundance in a pelagic bristlemouth fish Cyclothone pallida (Stomiformes: Gonostomatidae) are reported. Sampling was conducted during the day and night at two sites in the Bahamas using a Multiple Opening and Closing Net and Electronic Sensing System (MOCNESS). All samples show peak abundance in the 500–700 m depth range irrespective of time or sampling location. The mean and variance of body length increased with depth, and size–depth patterns do not significantly differ among samples. Results suggest that these populations of C. pallida do not exhibit diel vertical migration.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
