We consider the multicast routing problem for large-scale wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) optical networks where transmission requests are established by point-to-multipoint connections. To realize multicast routing in WDM optical networks, some nodes need to have light (optical) splitting capability. A node with splitting capability can forward an incoming message to more than one output link. We consider the problem of minimizing the number of split-capable nodes in the network for a given set of multicast requests. The maximum number of wavelengths that can be used is specified a priori. A genetic algorithm is proposed that exploits the combination of alternative shortest paths for the given multicast requests. This algorithm is examined for two realistic networks constructed based on the locations of major cities in Ibaraki Prefecture and those in Kanto District in Japan. Our experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can reduce more than 10% of split-capable nodes compared with the case where the split-capable node placement optimization is not performed while the specified number of wavelengths is not exceeded.
ABSTRACTThis activities are conducted base on the factor need of citizens whom internet user for having knowledge and skill how to manage information systems application. The purpose of this activity is to provide basic knowledge and skills how to manage information system applications for citizens of Sawah Baru, Tangerang Selatan. The participants of this activity were young people active on organization, as the number 16 participants. This activity is assisted by students of the Information Systems Study Program. The methods to conduct this activity is training in lecture with demonstration how to use, practices, question and answer then discussion for case study. The results of this activity for knowledge aspects are measured by pre test and post test, for skill aspects are measured by making direct observations of the participants asked question and written tests, as follows. First, participants get incrased knowledge needed for how to manage application. Second, participants obtained skills to manage application. This activity also has good impact for students that enable collaboration with participants in providing solutions to the needs of the community.
The crowded area in the bus stop are happen at the peak time where a lot of passengers wait for the bus. That kind of situations is one of the reasons for some people to decide not to use public transportation. This reseach is aimed to optimize the schedule time model of the urban transportation problems in high-density city, in order to reduce crowding in the area of bus stop. The condition that makes the bus stop becoming crowded is considered. An effective schedule is proposed in order to minimize the crowded area of the bus stop. The proposed schedule are evaluated and compared with the existing schedule which can predict the optimal schedule of the problem. The bus route and bus stop locations are constructed based on TransJakarta, operator of bus rapid transit system in Jakarta city, Indonesia.

This Community Service activity was carried out because they we the teacher's lack of ability in making their own learning videos. This ability is very much-needed in this pandemic, because students have to do distance learning. Universitas Pembangunan Jaya conducts training for teachers at MTs Miftah Assa'adah School located in South Tangerang area. In distance learning, the use of video media is needed by students. Teacher training is conducted using a combination of online and offline methods. The teachers were also given hand-on training to create, edit and upload the learning videos they made. Training using common applications and can be obtained easily. The applications used are also applications that do not require high computer resources, so they can be done with only standard devices. For example MS Power Point, Canva and Movie Maker, VLC and even Zoom. Of the 10 indicators used as a measure, 8 of them showed an increase of over 50%. The post-test results at the end of the training also showed an improvement in the general abilities of the training participants
