Due to social and individual conditions and access to health services, Amazonian riverside populations are highly vulnerable to sexually transmitted infections, including Chlamydia trachomatis. The aim is to estimate the seroprevalence of Chlamydia trachomatis and analyze the associated factors among riverside dwellers in a capital city in the Brazilian Amazon. A cross-sectional study was carried out with residents of the Combu Island, Belém. The study sample was calculated using the population survey technique in the EPI INFO. Only people aged 18 and over were included. ELISA serology was performed to detect antibodies against Chlamydia trachomatis. For data collection, a form containing vulnerability factor questions was applied. Binary regression analysis was performed using the Minitab 20 program. The study sample consisted of 325 participants. The prevalence of IgG/IgM antibodies against Chlamydia trachomatis was 22.2% and 5.5%, respectively. In the multiple regression, only participants with a broken condom were more likely to have antibodies against the bacteria (OR: 1.90; 95% CI: 1.01; 3.37; p = 0.046). Seroprevalence was associated with condom breakage. This factor demonstrates that despite having an attitude towards condom use, probably, they may have inadequate knowledge about the correct practice of introduction.
The Prostate cancer is the second neoplasm that most affects men in Brazil (INCA, 2017). However, there is usually a neglect of man related to his health and resistance to screening by performing the digital rectal exam (Souza, Silva & Pinheiro, 2011). Given this scenario, the reality of the riverside is found, which needs further clarification about health services (Miranda, Corrêa, Nogueira, Palmeira & Rodrigues, 2017). Therefore, the present study aims to report the experience of nursing students in carrying out a health education action on the importance of the digital rectal exam in the prevention of prostate cancer. It is an experience report developed by undergraduate nursing students in a riverside community. Held on 11/15/2019, on Ilha das Onças in the municipality of Barcarena / PA, in a local church space, where there was an action in health to riverside dwellers, focusing on the prevention of prostate cancer. The report was based on the methodology of problematizing the "Arco de Maguerez". The action was received with great enthusiasm, the participants were very attentive and collaborative, expressed a lot of opinion related to the subject, demonstrated reluctance about the preventive exam, a fact that reinforces the relevance of addressing the subject. They also reported the great difficulty in accessing health services. Furthermore, it was found that the participants had little knowledge about the subject. This reality, which generated several doubts during the action. The activity points out the need for methods of prevention and the demystification of the digital rectal exam, in addition to showing that it is necessary to have information, respect for equity, the National Policy for Integral Attention to Men's Health and the Population Policy of the Field and Forest.
The Brazilian Sign Language is characterized as a form of communication and expression based on gestures, being considered visual and motor. In some moments in health services, the deaf and / or mute individual is faced with situations in which there are no qualified professionals to meet their needs. As a result, it was decided to carry out a study on the subject in question, in order to describe the experience of academics facing a continuing education action carried out with health professionals. This study is an experience report based on the methodology of problematization Arco de Maguerez, resulting from the observation of the inadequacy in the communicative process between this clientele and the health professional. As a result, a continuing education action was carried out, through the teaching of basic LIBRAS. Finally, the need for investments in professionals is emphasized in order to continue implementing communication strategies that recognize the needs of these users and respect their particularities, resulting in an improvement in the quality of service.
